My Eyeshadow Collection

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to another post – today I will be showing you my eyeshadow collection.

The eyeshadows in my collection are:

  • Etude House My Little Nut in Lucky Red Little Nut*
  • Tarte Tease
  • The Balm Nude Dude
  • Chi Chi Taupes
  • Profusion Smoky

Etude House My Little Nut in Lucky Red Little Nut:

I got this palette off DeJapan, and I have previously done a blog post on it, click here.

I really like the shades in it, as they’re quite subtle. The palette is composed of matte and shimmer eyeshadows. Etude House is a Korean brand, therefore, their products are different to Western beauty products. With Korean makeup, the outcome is a very natural or glowy look, whereas Western makeup looks can be a bit more out there.

*This palette was gifted to me.

Tarte Tease:

As mentioned in my previous blog posts, I no longer support Tarte, but as this palette was gifted to me, I want to finish it, rather than letting it go to waste.

This was my first high end eyeshadow palette, and I think it’s great for beginners. It has very nice shades, which all go well together. The palette also has a mirror inside, which is very convenient. The shades Whisper and Wink are very light, matte shades – kind of like a base eyeshadow. They are very light in colour, so you might have to be a little heavy handed when applying them if you want that colour to show up. Crush and First Kiss are shimmery shades, Crush is brown, and First Kiss is more like a purple. Heartbreaker and BFF are darker, matte shades made to make a statement. I love using the brown shadow as the main shade, and using the purple to create more depth.

The Balm Nude Dude:

My friend gave me this palette and I was overwhelmed by the variety of shades! I love The Balm, I think they are a great brand that produces products with such beautiful packaging. There is so much to do with this palette, the variety of looks are endless.

There are a mix of mattes, shimmers and lighter shades in this. I love using Fabulous as a highlight – it’s golden and perfect for brow bone highlight. There is also a female version of this palette – Nude Tude, with similar shades in it. Alas, I have not tried that one yet.

Chi Chi Taupes:

Full review of this palette here.

It swatches so nicely, but I have found that it does contain a lot of fall out upon application, so always make sure you tap off any excess powder before applying this!

I love the shades in this too, especially the shimmers and the browns – clearly I have a type. I am not adventurous enough to use the blues and purple shadows in it though haha, maybe I will try to find a way to sneak them into an ‘everyday’ look.

Profusion Smoky:

I actually have tossed this out, due to it being extremely old.

The shades weren’t ‘everyday’ makeup kind of shades, so I didn’t get a lot of use out of them. It also had a lot of fall out.

I know, I have such a small eyeshadow collection but I really want to finish these before I go and buy more. If you’ve been following my ‘Empties’ highlight on IG, you’ll see that I have finished many products so far this year, and of course as the year progresses, there’ll be more!

Thanks for reading this weeks post, I hope you enjoyed it. What eyeshadow palettes are apart of your collection?

With love,

Irene
