Hi loves!
Happy Wednesday! It’s time for another beauty post. Today, I’ll be reviewing the Taupes eyeshadow palette by Chi Chi Cosmetics. I received this palette last year for my birthday and had a bit of a play with them, but never used them a whole heap until recently. I’d love to hit pan on it, because I want to get some wear out of my eyeshadow palette, before I buy another one.
Taupes by Chi Chi Cosmetics
Initial thoughts:
I really like the shades in this palette, especially the browns and nudes. I don’t get a lot of wear out of the purples/pink and blues, because I find that it’s too much for everyday wear haha. I stick with the browns for some depth and definition to my eyes and then add some of the shimmery shades to make my eyes pop.
Swatches
What I like:
They’re:
- Super affordable
They’re about $20 or so dollars.
- Easily accessed
You can purchase from Myer, Target, or even online!
- Super pigmented
These apply so nicely, both wet and dry!
- Travel friendly
It’s actually super lightweight and is the right size to take if you’re looking for something when travelling.
The Back
What I don’t like:
- The packaging
I find that a lot of the shadows manage to ‘fall’ out all over my table from the packaging.
- The blues
I’m not sure why the blues are there…I don’t think they match the rest of the colours very well. I understand the pinks and purples because they can be worked into the browns/nudes, but the blues are just too outrageous for me.

Overall:
I give this an 8/10. It’s great for beginners, super affordable and perfect for neutral/everyday looks. I’m disappointed in the packaging and a bit of the colour selection in it. But besides those two things, it’s a great palette!
Thanks for reading another one of my Wednesday beauty posts, I’ll catch you back here on Saturday for a new lifestyle post!
I love the neutral shades in this palette! 😍
