Review: Herbs + Heart Aloe Whip #gifted

Hello everyone!

I’ve got another Herbs and Heart review for you, today I’ll be reviewing the Aloe Whip*. I received a 10g sample which had 5+ applications. I have reviewed other HH products before, click here and here to check them out!

The Aloe Whip is a moisturiser available in a 100ml size for $29.99AUD.

A potent blend of Aloe Vera, Camellia & Oats, this Whip is the ultimate in hydration, gliding on smoothly and drying off with a silky touch.
This delicious moisturiser is designed for individuals with preference for creamier consistencies. The Aloe provides a solid base of essential vitamins and nutrients, including beta carotene, vitamin C & E that help improve the skins natural firmness and hydration.

Camellia, also known and Tea Seed, is the well kept beauty secret of the east, with the Japanese swearing by it for their flawless complexions. A potent anti-oxidant, and rich in essential fatty acids, its best characteristic is its ability to carry other ingredients to the sub-dermal level with it, providing deep nourishment.

Oats not only gives this moisturiser its delicious scent of muesli with a hint of vanilla, it forms a unique protective film over the skin that aids in fortifying the skin barrier, sealing in moisture, and allowing for the bio-actives of the other ingredients to continually nourish the skin.

The 3 main ingredients are:

  • Aloe vera
  • Camellia oil
  • Oats

Aloe Vera:

Aloe Vera is famously known as natures miracle skin healer. When applied topically, it releases natural enzymes and essential vitamins on the skin to yield a deep moisturizing effect that causes to restore pH balance as well. It also supplies oxygen to the skin, which strengthens the skin tissues and maintains the skin healthy. Aloe Vera leaves contain lots of anti-oxidants, including beta carotene, vitamin C and E that improve the natural firmness of the skin and keep the skin hydrated. Its regular application improves skin’s elasticity and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles associated with aging and loss of skin’s elasticity. While refreshing your skin, it makes your skin lively and young leaving it soft and hydrated.

Camellia oil:

Camellia oil is rich in Oleic acid and vitamins A, B, D and E as well as nourishing Omega 3, 6 and 9. Camellia oil has more naturally-occurring antioxidants than almost any other botanically derived oil. Not only does this make it the perfect anti-ageing ingredient to stimulate collagen and keep skin plump and elastic, it’s also great for mature skin as it supports natural surface cell turnover to improve the look of fine wrinkles. The molecular weight of the oil is an almost identical match for skin, allowing it to absorb quickly and thoroughly – almost as fast as water, with zero greasy residue!

Oats:

Oatmeal, suitable for all skin types, is especially effective to soothe dry and sensitive skin. Containing polysaccharides, which have a light gel like texture when combined with moisture, forms a film like protective layer that functions as a protective, second skin. The barrier also helps to lock in moisture, whilst delivering slow release essential fatty acids to feed the skin over time.  Oats are also a rich source of avenanthramides, a unique group of antioxidant compounds not found in other plant sources. Avenanthramides are the main actives in oats that reduce redness and inflammation, especially irritation from excessive sun exposure (UV radiation).

Directions:

Apply evenly and liberally as required.
Ingredients:

Aloe vera juice, hydrolysed oats, oat silc protein, camellia oil, watermelon oil, olive wax, chamomile hydrosol, cucumber extract, glycerine, vitamin e, vanilla oleoresin.
First Impressions:

The first time I used it, I’m not sure if I used enough, because my skin became dry afterwards.

Second attempt was much better, I used a bit more and my skin felt more hydrated. The smell reminds me of cake, but the fragrance itself is contained and not overpowering. It’s a nice colour, it’s like a shade of white if that makes sense haha.
What I like:

  • Smell

The slight scent smells really good! It reminds me of like vanilla cake, kind of sweet but not overly sweet.

  • Moisturising

I actually love using it on my hands, my hands get pretty dry in winter sometimes, and I am constantly washing them (I’m a clean freak, and I know washing them too much is bad but I gotta be clean haha).

  • Softening

My hands have really softened since using it, and I’m pretty impressed.

  • Ingredients

Aloe vera and oats do great things for skin, especially dry skin. I have not heard of camellia oil until reading up on  the ingredients, but it sounds just as amazing as aloe and oats!

What I don’t like:

  • Nothing

This is a very nice moisturiser!
Overall:

I am very impressed with this moisturiser. It seems to be suitable for the face and body. The ingredients are great for moisturising the skin, as well as softening it. Plus the smell, I’ve never had some a good smelling moisturiser before haha.

I think I prefer to use it on my body, than my face because my skincare routine has a lot of steps and as the products pile on top of each other, some products don’t absorb into the skin as well as other products.

That’s all I have for you today, if you’ve tried this before, or any other HH products, I’d love to know your thoughts! Thank you for reading this weeks post, see you next week!

With love,

Irene
