There’s a lot of packaging for a small jar – it’s 50ml. I like the shade of green used on the packaging, it’s enticing. The mask itself smells lovely, it’s quite soothing. There is another ‘lid’ once you twist the top off, which I like too as it seals in the ‘freshness’ of the jar, and stops it from drying out. Once you apply the mask, it dries out pretty sheer, so you don’t need to put too much. I like to apply my masks with a brush for precision, but if you use your fingers, that’s still fine. I did find it to be a little drying, so if you have sensitive skin please be wary. It’s a bit hard for me to wash off too. My skin feels fresher after using it. I use it 1-2 times a week, as I also use sheet masks, scrubs and chemically exfoliate – I don’t want to be too harsh on my skin by overdoing things.
What I like:
  • Packaging

The jar itself is convenient for storing in the bathroom and I like it because it keeps the product from drying out.

  • The effect

It makes my skin more matte, which is great! A product should do what it says right.

  • Scent

I really like the smell, but I have seen that some people find that it’s too heavily fragranced. If that’s a problem for you, I suggest you steer clear of this.

  • The colour

As I mentioned above, I really like the colour of it!

  • Size

I think the product amount is good enough to last you at least 3 months with consistent use. You don’t need a lot for this, as I said, it dries sheer.

What I don’t like:

  • Drying

Don’t leave this (and most other clay masks) on for too long, as it can be overdrying. Make sure you have a timer on hand, in case you leave it on for too long. I usually keep this on for about 8-10 minutes, even though it says 10-15 minutes. If it starts to crack, that means you’ve had it on for too long.

  • Hard to wash off

I find that I do have to put a little more effort in when I am washing it off. Most people use a wet towel to remove masks, but I prefer using warm water + my hands of course! Using a towel may make it easier to remove, compared to using hands.

  • Excess packaging

There is plenty of excess room in the cardboard box that it comes in. I think this is a bit redundant, as the jar itself is quite small.

Overall:

I like this mask and definitely would purchase the other ones in the range to try as well. I’d prefer buying this when it’s on sale (I got this one for my birthday), the RRP is around $20, and it’s rarely on sale for half price, but Chemist Warehouse usually stocks it for a few dollars cheaper, compared to Priceline or Coles.

I recommend this to people with oily/combo skin! It really does mattify your skin, I feel less oily the day after I use this mask.

That’s all for today, I hope you all have a great week!

What are your thoughts on these masks?

With love,
Irene

  1. I use this mask and found that I couldn’t leave it on until it completely dried. Try taking it off between 5-10 minutes to hopefully stop your skin from feeling too dry.
