Hello!
Another requested review, so here it is! Today I’ll be reviewing the Loreal Pure Clay Mask that purifies and mattifies. It is available from Coles, Woolworths, Priceline and Chemist Warehouse, as well as other chemists.
Taken from the Loreal website:
“Transform Skin in Just 10 Minutes. 3 Pure Clays and Eucalyptus. For Oily and Shiny Skin.
Directions:
Apply an even layer to clean dry skin, avoiding eye and lip area. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes then remove with water. For best results use 3 times a week.
Ingredients:
AQUA / WATER, KAOLIN, GLYCERIN, GLYCERYL STEARATE, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, DIMETHICONE, PEG-100 STEARATE, PRUNUS ARMENIACA SEED POWDER / APRICOT SEED POWDER, PERLITE POLYSORBATE 20, CARBOMER, TRIETHANOLAMINE, DIMETHICONOL, PALMARIA, PALMATA EXTRACT, MOROCCAN LAVA CLAY, CAPRYLYL, GLYCOL, XANTHAN GUM, MONTMORILLONITE, TOCOPHEROL, PHENOXYETHANOL, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / IRON OXIDES, LINALOOL, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE
- Packaging
The jar itself is convenient for storing in the bathroom and I like it because it keeps the product from drying out.
- The effect
It makes my skin more matte, which is great! A product should do what it says right.
- Scent
I really like the smell, but I have seen that some people find that it’s too heavily fragranced. If that’s a problem for you, I suggest you steer clear of this.
- The colour
As I mentioned above, I really like the colour of it!
- Size
I think the product amount is good enough to last you at least 3 months with consistent use. You don’t need a lot for this, as I said, it dries sheer.
What I don’t like:
- Drying
Don’t leave this (and most other clay masks) on for too long, as it can be overdrying. Make sure you have a timer on hand, in case you leave it on for too long. I usually keep this on for about 8-10 minutes, even though it says 10-15 minutes. If it starts to crack, that means you’ve had it on for too long.
- Hard to wash off
I find that I do have to put a little more effort in when I am washing it off. Most people use a wet towel to remove masks, but I prefer using warm water + my hands of course! Using a towel may make it easier to remove, compared to using hands.
- Excess packaging
There is plenty of excess room in the cardboard box that it comes in. I think this is a bit redundant, as the jar itself is quite small.
Overall:
I like this mask and definitely would purchase the other ones in the range to try as well. I’d prefer buying this when it’s on sale (I got this one for my birthday), the RRP is around $20, and it’s rarely on sale for half price, but Chemist Warehouse usually stocks it for a few dollars cheaper, compared to Priceline or Coles.
I recommend this to people with oily/combo skin! It really does mattify your skin, I feel less oily the day after I use this mask.
That’s all for today, I hope you all have a great week!
What are your thoughts on these masks?
I use this mask and found that I couldn’t leave it on until it completely dried. Try taking it off between 5-10 minutes to hopefully stop your skin from feeling too dry.
