John Frieda is available at Coles, Woolworths, Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, independent pharmacies and select retailers nationally.

Styling spray suitable for all levels of frizz, including colour-treated and chemically treated hair, while providing heat protection.

Directions:

Shake well. Spray liberally on damp hair and distribute evenly. To create definition, scrunch small sections and air dry hair or blow-dry using a diffuser. Suitable for curly and frizzy hair.

ALCOHOL-FREE.
Ingredients:

WATER, GLYCERIN, AMODIMETHICONE, VP/VACOPOLYMER, OLIVE OIL PEG-7 ESTERS, DIMETHICONE PEG-8MEADOWFOAMATE, MAGNESIUM SULFATE, DIAZOLIDINYL UREA,PANTHENOL, VP/DIMETHYLAMINOETHYLMETHACRYLATECOPOLYMER, POLYQUATERNIUM-11, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE,TRIDECETH-12, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, METHYLPARABEN,PROPYLPARABEN,FRAGRANCE, CITRICACID.
First Impressions:

The first time I used it, it didn’t spray very well.

It has a nice scent to it and made my hair feel soft, once it was dry.

It kind of reminds me of the spray I used to use when I was a child, it was a detangling spray and it smelled so good!
What I like:

  • Packaging

I like how it has a lid, this ensures that nothing can leak out unexpectedly.

  • Scent

I really like the smell of this, it reminds me of the smell of salons with all the shampoo and conditioner scents in the air haha.

  • Effect

It made my hair really soft. I air dry my hair, so I’m not sure how this’ll be on hair that’s being blow dried.
What I don’t like:

  • Spray

The first few times you use it, it comes out in splatters, but after using it more, it distributes more evenly.
Overall:

I found this to be a nice product to use, definitely softens my hair and is easy to use. Like I said, the only fault is the first time you use it, it doesn’t spray very well, but the more you use it, the better it’ll spray.

Air Dry Waves Styling Foam

Enhance natural curls and waves. Impeccable, touchably-soft style.

Get defined curls without the need for heated styling tools. Infused with moringa oil and a unique blend of polymers, this featherweight curly hair styler helps control frizz for perfectly smooth waves and curls. Non-sticky foam dries quickly, creating a flexible film that cleverly stretches as curl bundles expand while drying, keeping the curl intact. This air-dry curly hair styler can also be used on dried styles for a targeted touch-up on the go. Expertly designed for medium-thick and wavy-curly hair types, but suitable for all levels of frizz. Safe for colour-treated hair.

Directions:

Dispense foam in palms and spread through wet hair, distributing evenly from root to tip. Start with 2-3 pumps, using more or less depending on length and texture of hair. Scrunch hair to enhance waves. Allow hair to air dry. Suitable for naturally wavy hair types.

Key ingredients – Moringa Oil
Ingredients:

WATER, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, SILICONEQUATERNIUM-16/GLYCIDOXY DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, POLYSORBATE 20, SODIUMLAURETH SULFATE, VP/METHACRYLAMIDE/VINYL IMIDAZOLE COPOLYMER, UNDECETH-5,UNDECETH-11, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, POLYQUATERNIUM-72, DIAZOLIDINYL UREA,FRAGRANCE, MORINGA OLEIFERA SEED OIL, IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE.
First Impressions:

It’s a bit hard to push the pump first, but within one pump you do get a lot of product. It’s suggested to use 2-3 pumps, but I use about 4 because of my hair length – the amount you use it totally adjustable towards your hair type and length.

I was a bit concerned because you are not meant to wash it out, and when I first put the product in my hair it was just white foam in my hair. But after a while, it disappears and penetrates your hair.

The next day my hair was softer and easier to style than normal.
What I like:

  • Packaging

Ensures cleanliness and the lid prevents it from drying out.

  • Easy to use

This is so easy to use, perfect for when you want to treat your hair. Also it’s a leave-in so you are free to go about anything whilst it sits in your hair and as your hair dries.

  • Colour of packaging

I love the colour used for this range, the purple is very eye catching!

  • Leaves hair feeling soft

As I mentioned, I don’t really have wavy hair, my hair is naturally straight, but I love the feeling this gives my hair. It’s so soft the easier to manage the next day.
What I don’t like:

  • Nothing

I have no faults for this! It’s the first time I’ve used anything like this and I was pretty impressed!
Overall:

Although this is suitable for naturally wavy hair, it worked well for mine. It leaves hair feeling soft and once it’s in your hair you don’t have to worry about washing it out or anything! I prefer to air dry my hair and I have had no issues with it at all. On the back it suggests scrunching hair to enhance waves, but I didn’t do this as I don’t have wavy hair.

First Impressions:

I was really intrigued with this product, because it’s not a wash out. You put it in dry hair and then you go about your day.

After applying it to my hair, it felt smooth for the remainder of the day. I didn’t touch-up as I didn’t feel the need to.

Pretty impressed so far.
What I like:

  • Avocado oil

Avocado oil is known for its softening properties, and it does just that!

  • Smooths hair

My hair feels smoother every time I use this.

  • Convenience

Putting it into dry hair and not washing it out may seen strange because you think your hair will feel sticky, but this doesn’t leave your hair feeling that way! It’s totally convenient for when you want to do a little bit extra for your hair, without having to go through the process of washing and conditioning it.

  • Smell

The products in this range have similar scents, and I’m a big fan of it!

  • Size

This is quite a large product. I have medium length hair, it rests around the chest area and I only need a 10c coin sized amount to cover the areas that I need. So this product will last me some time.
What I don’t like:

  • Nothing!

Really impressed with this.
Overall:

I really like this product as you can tell. I find it so convenient for those days where you’re after a little more oomph in your hair but you’re feeling kind of lazy. Just pop some of this in your hair and you’ll have soft hair instantly. Plus it can be used on natural or styled hair! I’m impressed by the key ingredient of avocado oil. Avocado oil has great properties for hair and skin, it’s known to help with softening the skin/hair, so it’s great that it’s used in this!

Key ingredients – Silk proteins and algae extract.
Ingredients:

CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, DIMETHICONOL, ETHYLHEXYLMETHOXYCINNAMATE, MINERAL OIL, HYDROLYZED SILK, ALGAE EXTRACT,FRAGRANCE.
First Impressions:

I like that the top can be locked, once again stopping the product from spilling in any way.

The serum is transparent and lightweight. I use quite a few pumps, around 5-6. I like how it’s to be used for soaking wet hair, because I can easily do this as my last step before I step out of the shower.

Once my hair is dried (I air dry), it’s smoother and easier to style.
What I like:

  • Lockable top

Stops any product from potentially leaking.

  • Convenient

It’s 50ml, good size for travelling + it has a lockable top!

  • Smooths hair

I don’t have a lot of frizziness in my hair, but this product definitely helps smooth my hair leaving it feeling lightweight!
What I don’t like:

  • Nothing

No faults in this product either!
Overall:

I enjoyed using this too. If you have long hair (past the chest) you might find that you finish this a lot quicker than others. But for my hair length, I think this is perfect to use 1-2 times a week when I want to give my hair a little extra love. The serum isn’t sticky at all and it’s also very easy to use. I definitely recommend this for all hair types!

As you can tell, I was pretty impressed with this range. Sometimes my hair can be knotty or a bit hard to manage, but these products have helped my hair by softening it and giving it some extra love. Although some of these products are aimed at certain hair types, they can also help with overall hair maintenance.

That’s all I have for this week! I’ve previously reviewed another John Frieda range, click here to read all about it. If you’ve tried anything from John Frieda, I’d love to know your thoughts!

With love,

Irene
