Hello everyone!
Today I’ll be reviewing the Cosrx Aloe sunscreen, from one of my favourite brands! I’ve been using this since April or May, and I had to get it after hearing such good reviews. I’m also a fan of Korean sunscreens and I’m still on the hunt for my HG one.
I bought this from Boniik Beauty, but you can buy it from various K-beauty stockists online and in-store.
Aloe has been used as great ingredient for hydrating and moisturizing ever since 4,000 years ago. It was one of the favorite natural materials used by Cleopatra for her beauty care. Aloe vera has strong anti-aging effect by creating the powerful moisture layer on the skin while offering the deep soothing effect. Aloe Soothing Sun Cream contains 5,500ppm of aloe vera leaf extract.
The Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Screen is a sun cream that completely blocks UVA and UVB and moisturizes the skin. The combination of scientifically proven sun protection and natural ingredients and provide the skin protection layer.

First Impressions:
It follows the Corsx-type packaging, very simplistic, keeping it to one main colour (green) and black. Although it may seem small in size, 50ml definitely lasts you a while.
It has a slight smell to it, very faintly smells like aloe, but I can’t describe the main scent haha.
The first time I used it it left a cast, which I was shocked to see after hearing people say how it doesn’t leave one. But I found out that it only left a cast because my face was kind of wet, after layering all my skincare – watery-type serums and essences.
After that first trial, I decided to try it again, but I made sure my skin wasn’t very wet and it worked a charm! It doesn’t make my face very greasy, but when I’m in the sun, my face starts to get kind of greasy, by then I usually just blot my face with some blotting sheets and problem solved.
It’s very moisturising and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or uncomfortable, so I was pretty impressed.
What I like:
Packaging
I love Cosrx’s signature packaging! Always packaged simplistically, and uses attractive colours.
Lasts long
This has lasted me 4+ months, but I didn’t use it everyday – because I don’t go out everyday. I only wear sunscreen when I leave the house. But generally, I used it 3-4 times a week, and I don’t touch up during the day – I know it’s so bad. But I hate touching my face during the day, when my hands aren’t clean. I always wear a hat when I’m out too, so I’m not entirely exposed to the sun haha.
Moisturising
Like I said above, it’s quite moisturising. Sometimes I skip moisturiser and just use this on top of the last step – usually eye cream.
Travel friendly
As it’s 50ml, it’s the perfect size to bring when you travel, or you’re on the go. Just pop it in your handbag and you’re set.
Tube packaging
I prefer tubes of sunscreen over pumps, that way I can ensure I get every last bit out when I’m about to finish the product.
What I don’t like:
Somewhat greasy feeling
Like I said above, it gets a bit greasy after some time. I wish there was a sunscreen that didn’t leave a white cast or greasy feeling, one can dream right?
Overall:
I really like this sunscreen, it’s in my top 3 favourite sunscreens. The price I would say is pretty affordable for a k-beauty sunscreen, but it depends where you buy it. I’ve seen it being sold for $16-30AUD, which is pretty insane. Many k-beauty sunscreens are a lot more expensive than western ones, and are smaller in size too, from what I’ve seen, but I still prefer Asian ones still.
That’s all I have for today, I hope you enjoyed reading this review. If you’ve found your HG sunscreen, please do share it with me! I have oily skin and I’ve previously tried the Biore sunscreen, Nature Republic aloe sunscreen (didn’t like this at all, left a cast) and Alpha H moisturiser with SPF30. Oh and I’ve also tried the Aveeno daily moisturiser with SPF15, but I want something with a higher SPF. On my list to try is one of the Ego/Sunsense ones, I forgot the name but it’s SPF50 and around $15AUD, plus my friend swears by it.
As always, with love,
Irene
