Review: Enbacci’s Basics Collection*

Hello everyone!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend, today I’ll be reviewing Enbacci’s Basics Collection* which includes:

For those who haven’t heard of Enbacci, it’s a luxury Australian skincare brand started by a mother and daughter in Melbourne, Australia. After years of suffering with her sensitive skin, co-founder Nan was determined to create something that would not leave her skin red, irritated and with open sores. Together with her daughter, Yong-Li Zhou, Enbacci was created.

After a year of research, product development and design, Enbacci was launched in late 2013.

Enbacci stocks a range of products including – cleansers, homeware, accessories and more. Enbacci ships nation-wide and globally – for a flat rate of $25 for shipping.

According to the founder of Enbacci, Yong-Li Zhou, 7 out of 10 customers who masked on a weekly basis didn’t properly exfoliate the skin before applying a face mask. Enbacci’s basics collection can be used independently or as part of the Enbacci’s 3 step masking system.

Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Scrub

  • Pore clarifying
  • Skin polishing and smoothing
  • Skin rejuvenating

Ingredients:

Aqua (Purified Water), Alumina, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Ceteareth-20, Butyrospernum Parkii Butter, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Carbomer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Methylisothiazolinone, Disodium EDTA.

First Impressions:

Everything is packaged so beautifully. This scrub comes in a box and inside there are instructions that are also printed in Chinese, Spanish, French, Korean, Japanese and of course English – all the products have instructions in these languages.

When I first used it, the texture was a bit of a surprise for me. It’s kind of gritty…that’s the best way I can describe the texture. There’s not really ‘beads’ in it, but you can feel these little exfoliating things – like really, really fine sand. It’s white in colour and when applied on the skin it feels very soothing and gentle.

My skin felt smoother after using it.
What I like:

  • Left my skin feeling smooth

I’ve never used a scrub like this before and it left my skin feeling smooth after use.

  • Large size

This is 75ml, but trust me, it’ll last some time. I use a tiny bit and it’s enough for my face – like half the size of a 5c piece is enough for me.

  • Gentle

This is very gentle on the skin and as mentioned above it’s suitable for all skin types.

  • Leaves skin glowy

After a few weeks use of this, I found it has brightened my complexion a bit.
What I don’t like:

  • Packaging of tube

This comes in a twist off, I’d prefer if it came with a flip cap – just for convenience, but that’s just my personal preference.
Overall:

Very fun exfoliating scrub, I’ve never tried any microdermabrasion products before. The texture is really unique and feels very fine – make sure you wash it off completely, I sometimes find a few traces of it left behind. Though the only fault I can find in it is the cap, it’s not too bad! Will definitely get a lot of use out of the 75ml tube too!

Detoxifying Clay Mask

The Detoxifying Clay Mask (75ml) contains a balanced combination of kaolin clay and humectants to removes impurities from the pores, whilst maintaining hydration. It leaves the skin feeling rejuvenated with a healthy and radiant glow. Suitable for all skin types.

Benefits:

  • unclogs pores from oil, dirt and toxins
  • skin hydrating
  • promotes blood flow to rejuvenate skin

Directions:

Apply all over skin or where necessary. Leave for 10-15 minutes then rinse with warm water. For external use only, not to be swallowed.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Purified Water), Glycerin, Kaolin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Bentonite, Butyrospernum Parkii Butter, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, PEG-20 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Hamamelis Virginiana Water, Triethanolamine, Benzophenone-4, Xanthan Gum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance.
First Impressions:

This mask is very pale, I’d say a really pale brown? and it’s very gentle on the skin. The first time I used this I found that it didn’t dry completely – which is good because clay masks tend to dry out and therefore dry up your skin, but this doesn’t!

Once again, I don’t need a whole lot of this to cover my face. I had a thick layer on the first time, but the times after that I used a thinner layer and it worked out just as well.
What I like:

  • Isn’t drying

It’s meant to be left on for 5-10 minutes, once I left it on for about 10 minutes and it still didn’t dry my skin out which is amazing.

  • Don’t need a whole lot

As I mentioned above, I started using a thinner layer when masking and that’ll leave you lots of product in the long run.

  • Skin feels refreshed

After using this mask (I use it alone + with the other 2 products sometimes) my skin feels softer and thoroughly cleansed.

  • Gentle

This is also suitable for all skin types and I found it to be super gentle on the skin.

  • Ingredients

This has macadamia seed oil, aloe and kaolin – very nourishing and deep cleansing.

What I don’t like:

  • Smell

I’m not too fond of the smell – it smells like clay (duh) but it’s not too overpowering at the same time.
Overall:

I found this to be a very gentle and deep cleansing face mask. It doesn’t dry out the skin and once again you don’t need a whole lot of product. Like I said, I wasn’t too fond on the smell, but I still enjoyed using this mask.

Pore Minimiser

Pore Minimiser utilises the benefits of tea tree oil to promote the reduction of pores, leaving the skin feeling silky smooth. Suitable for all skin types.

Benefits:

  • anti-inflammatory
  • can be used as a primer

Directions:

Apply small amount of Pore Minimiser to face or where necessary.

Texture shot + post-application

Ingredients:

Aqua (Purified Water), Ethanol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Isostearyl Neopentanoate, Oryza Sativa Powder, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Dimethicone, Xanthan Gum, Pentylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Serine, Urea, Sorbitol, Sodium Chloride, Methylisothiazolinone, Allantoin, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil.
First Impressions:

Smells like tea tree! I know some people don’t like the smell of tea tree oil but I don’t mind it. It isn’t a very strong scent, it’s barely noticeable once dispensed, unless you go right up to the product and smell it.

The texture is like a cream, and it’s white in colour. It dries matte, and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling.

I used it on my face the first time and I found I dispensed too much product. All the times after that, I just focused on areas where I’d like to minimise my pores.

What I like:

  • Smell

Love the tea tree oil scent!

  • Doesn’t leave skin feeling greasy

I wasn’t aware that I could use this as a primer, I’ve been using it after my eye cream and before my moisturiser and it absorbs into the skin nicely, without leaving it feeling greasy.

  • Gentle

All of Enbacci’s products are very gentle for the skin + suitable for all skin types.

  • Can use as a moisturiser

I don’t mind using this as a moisturiser, it works well for my skin + helps to minimise the pores all in one!

  • Size

Another product that’ll last me ages!
What I don’t like:

  • Nothing

Overall:

I haven’t used any products that are targeted towards pore minimising specifically. I don’t have super large pores in general, but using this has allowed me to look after my pores, ensuring they’re as minimised as can be!

If you’re interested in this and you don’t like the smell of tea tree oil, I’d say it’s worth considering because the smell isn’t overpowering – like I can barely smell it when I take the lid off, I can only really smell it once I go right up to it if that makes sense.

That’s all I have for you today, there’ll be another blog post up this week so keep an eye out for that one. Thank you for reading another one of my blog posts, hope you all have a great week!

With love,

Irene
