Meet me Mondays with Casey – @makeupbymiddz

Hello my friends!

Hope you’re having a lovely public holiday in you’re in NSW, SA or the ACT. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these – life gets in the way, but they are back! There’s only 2 more of these for the year, where has the year gone?! Today we are meeting Casey @makeupbymiddz , who is a great makeup artist that I discovered a few months ago. Tell us about yourself

My name is Casey, I just turned 21 in isolation. I live in Melbourne (it is not the most liveable city atm, let me tell you that!) and work full time as a Beauty Advisor at Priceline. I am a type 1 diabetic. And the things I most enjoy in life are hiking, skateboarding, op shopping and painting peoples faces. 

What are you loving at the moment?

• My Growth Journals ( ‘5 minutes to a mindful you’ – Aster )
• Meditation 
• Glowing exposed skin loaded up with faux freckles 
• The quiet of the world atm that is giving us the space to work on ourselves
• This new drink that I’ve been loving. I’ve named it the ‘Aquamarine’. It’s equal parts vodka, mother, and blue powerade. Give it go…

Do you have any makeup tips or hacks that you’d like to share with us?

There’s a couple that come to mind but my favourite little trick is using Bondi Sands 1 Hour Express Tan and dotting that all over my face, let it set for an hour then remove. It gives me the most natural week long faux freckles. 

What is your go-to skincare product?

You would of heard it a million times already but The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is my favourite product to use AM and PM and I love the way my makeup sits layered on top! 

Are you binge watching any TV series at the moment?

I’m currently re-watching the Midnight Gospel. I would recommend this show to absolutely everyone and I think there’s a lot to learn from the creator Duncan Trussell. 

What are you looking forward to in the upcoming months?

Hopefully returning to semi normal life as Melbourne reopens. Then going for a massive hike to get fully emerged back into nature; and finally fingers crossed I can hit up a end of year festival and boogie with my friends. 

Where do you see yourself in five years? 

I would love to be doing something creative but I haven’t fully paved out what I want to do career wise. But my main goals are to be happy within my soul, to be continually growing into the best person I can be and to spread as much love and have as much fun as possible.

Are there any makeup products you regret purchasing? 

I have so so many but pretty much anything by Nude By Nature I don’t gel with and the Two Faced Natural Lust Eyeshadow Palette was a complete waste of money. 

Lastly, who or what inspires you?

Makeup wise I love @frankiepdarling because she’s super funky and creative. I think the beauty of nature and the outdoors inspire me most in life.
