Brand Highlight – The Ordinary

I’m back with another brand highlight, today I’m talking about The Ordinary. Over the past 2-3 years, I’ve tried a number of their products – some I have already reviewed, some I am yet to review.

The products I have tried are:

• Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
• Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
• Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
• Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2%
• AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

I tried this a long time ago and I wasn’t a fan to be honest. It was so thick and didn’t absorb easily into my skin. It also pilled which drove me crazy. I finished the bottle pretty quickly as well, and didn’t see much improvement.

It’s so popular this year and I’m not sure if I would try it again. I have my eyes set on the Marine Hyaluronics though, maybe I’ll give it a try in the future.

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

You can read my full review here. I love this stuff! I have used two bottles of it and it has worked so well for my skin. I picked up another brand’s niacinamide, but I just didn’t get as good as results from that one. This stuff is a lifesaver for me, just check out my review above for more details!

Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

You can check out my full review here. I feel like I’m the only one that didn’t like this? It wasn’t moisturising enough for me, and it was thicker than what I was used to at the time. Yeah, it just didn’t work out for me and as before, check out my review for more details!

Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2%

I didn’t like this product either! I tried out the 5% first, in case the 10% was too strong for my skin. I didn’t see any results from this one, and was disappointed because it claims to do some amazing things for the skin. I will probably not progress to the 10% either.

AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

The famous peeling solution. I have been using this for months now and have I seen long term results? Not really. Right after using it, my skin is so much softer, but it hasn’t done much for me in terms of skin tone and texture. So I’m kind of on the fence with this one. Perhaps it’s one of those products that work, but you don’t really see the difference? Will report back with my thoughts once this is finished, at the moment I’m half way through it and I use it 1-2 times a week.
