Review: Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask

This has been requested a few times, so I decided to finally put a review together!

The mask was brought out about 2-3 years ago by Swisse, when they expanded their products to include a whole range of skin care suited to all different skin types. The manuka honey mask is recommended for combination skin, as well as congested and blemish prone skin.

Purpose:

Swisse Manuka Honey Detoxifying Facial Mask is a naturally absorbent facial mask, luxuriously formulated to purify and detoxify the skin, while leaving it feeling smooth and hydrated.”

Swatch of the mask

First impressions:

The first time I tried this I put it all over my face with a foundation brush – the flat kind, I use this brush because it doesn’t put foundation on very well. It has a peculiar smell to it, kind of like honey that’s been mixed with something, I’m not quite sure how to pin point it. It dries super fast, honestly in under 10 minutes. Don’t leave it on for too long though! I could see the mask working as it was drying – especially around my nose. I washed it off and my skin felt smoother.

The mask once its dry

What I like:

  • Time it takes to dry

No need to explain this one!

  • The lid

This prevents the mask from drying out after every use.

  • Product amount

It’s 70g/2.47oz, and with use two days a week, it can last a few months. I’ve been using it for about 2 months and there’s still two thirds left.

  • Drying effect

As the mask dries, you can see the impurities get drawn from your skin!

What I didn’t like:

  • Nothing

Honestly there isn’t much I don’t like. It’s quite affordable too! If you use it twice a week (consistently), you’ll get 8 uses in a month, at the least.

Overall:

I really like this mask, it’s probably my second favourite mask because it purifies and detoxifies my skin. My favourite would be the Formula 1006 Deep Down Detox mask because it really helps to brighten my skin and lighten my acne scars.

I would definitely purchase this again, but to be honest I do find the RRP to be a bit expensive (my personal opinion). When I bought this, it was on sale so I decided to give it a go and I haven’t been disappointed!

Hope you all enjoyed reading this review, and let me know your thoughts on this mask!

Until next time xxx
