Hi everyone!
I have a special blog post today talking about THE k-beauty destination. You may have heard of BONIIK from my blog posts last year, my most recent blog post (which you can check out here) or from my IG.
I collaborated with BONIIK last year and you can check out those blog posts here. I have collaborated with them again to tell you more about their brand and their products.
For those unfamiliar with BONIIK, they are an Australian K-Beauty stockist with two stores located in Sydney (World Square and Sydney Westfield, addresses listed below). They also ship domestically AND internationally to a list of countries that you can find here. They do free shipping (including free samples) for domestic orders over $70AUD AND you get a $10 voucher upon signing up. Their brand slogan is:
Your K-Beauty Destination.
BONIIK stocks skincare, haircare, bodycare, cosmetics and tools/accessories – they offer the widest range of K-Beauty in Australia.
The philosophy behind the company is:
We believe in delivering our customers the best transformative experience.
We are committed to deliver extraordinary service.
We guarantee authenticity on all our products.
At BONIIK, they stock cult classic brands such as Cosrx, Pyunkang Yul and Klairs just to name a few. You can check out what brands they stock here.
I had the pleasure of visiting their World Square store the other week for a skin consultation and I received two products as a result of that:
Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner:
PYUNKANG YUL Essence Toner is fragrance and color free toner helps nourish and hydrate skin to its optimal state. PYUNKANG YUL is known to have ingredients only necessary for skin; in this case only 7 ingredients are used in this toner. It helps with improving skin moisture barrier and moisturising dry and irritated skin.
Ingredients:
Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Arginine
My thoughts:
This product is so popular among the k-beauty community. I haven’t tried anything from this brand before either so I was pretty excited to give it a go!
The packaging is very sleek and secure – no spillage! It comes with a flip cap, and it protected by a foil seal.
What I found most interesting about this toner is the texture. It took me by surprise at first because it’s a toner so I naturally assumed it would be water-like. But actually it’s an essence toner, so the texture is a bit thicker than water. It still absorbs seamlessly like water, but it’s not quite as liquid as water.
This is good for the seven skin method – where you layer a hydrating toner or essence. It’s also great for those with dry skin as it helps improve the moisture barrier.
The PKY brand is suitable for all skin types, and I find that their products are really good for people with dry skin as well!
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop:
KLAIRS Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop contains pure vitamin C that has been stabilized so it will be safe to use on the skin.

My thoughts:
This is another product that I’ve heard so many good things about. I haven’t tried anything from Klairs before either so this was somewhat new to me.
As most of you may know by now, I have oily/acne prone skin and my skin concerns would be scarring, redness, texture and all that.
Vitamin C is a great ingredient that helps with these kinds of things. I haven’t used many vitamin c products before so I was a bit cautious, but I know that you must wear sunscreen during the day time to protect your skin – this applies to anyone that uses any kind of acid on their skin.
Another hero ingredient in this is centella asiatica. This also helps with scarring and brightening.
I love that it comes in a dropper packaging because it is so convenient. I use this in the evenings and of course use sunscreen in the day time. I try not to mix too many acids together so I tend to alternate my acids – I use products that contain niacinamide, BHA and AHA.
They also gave me a little sample pack so I can try some products from other brands. I received 4 sheet masks:
- Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Sheet Mask
- The Face Shop Real Nature Green Tea Mask Sheet
- Mediheal Collagen Impact Essential Mask
- The Face Shop Real Nature Pomegranate Mask Sheet
I had always been curious about Klairs’ Midnight Blue range as I heard it’s good for calming the skin and/or redness. Having that formula made into a sheet mask is great for when your skin is a bit irritated and needs something quick to calm it down. In that range there’s a cream and a dropper product.
I have tried many of The Face Shop’s sheet masks, they are so affordable and have the cutest packaging. They also have masks made from a range of ingredients such as Ginseng, Lime, Rice and more, which target all kinds of skin concerns from brightening to hydrating.
Lastly, with Mediheal I haven’t tried anything from the brand but I’ve heard they make some amazing (and affordable) sheet masks.
I am yet to use these sheet masks because I have been so busy lately with work and uni that I haven’t had to time to really unwind with a sheet mask.
I was also given some sample sachets from Klairs, Dr. Belmeur and Yehwadam.
During my consultation, I was talking about all the brands they stocked and what I’ve tried and what I haven’t. Klairs was a brand that I’ve known for years, but just never had the chance of trying. What I love about BONIIK is that they have testers in store meaning I can try the skincare products and see what they feel like and smell like. I often shop online for my K-Beauty, but having a physical store where I can try things makes shopping a whole lot easier! I was lucky enough to receive a bunch of samples from Klairs to try out in the comfort of my own home. I had tried some in store and I was really impressed but I didn’t the full benefit of the product as I was just applying it to my hand.
I am familiar with Dr. Belmeur as I received some of their samples last year from BONIIK as well. The brand creates products for those with acne-prone skin. I also purchased their Clarifying Spot Solution Kit to try out and since the purchase I’ve actually used it a few times on myself and my boyfriend and I am really enjoying it. My favourite part of it is the spot extractor, I’m one of those people that loves seeing extractions haha they’re so satisfying – if you’d like a full blog post/review, just shoot me a message.
Lastly, Yehwadam is another brand I’m familiar with as I tried one of their products last year. Yehwadam is apart of The Face Shop’s brand and their products use traditional Korean herbs that are processed by traditional methods passed down from one generation to another.
