Holiday haul

Hello lovelies,

As most of you know, I was overseas from December until January. I didn’t buy a lot of things overseas, mainly skincare, because I wanted to buy things that I couldn’t get back in Australia.

Hong Kong has so many amazing stores to purchase beauty items. If you’re ever in Hong Kong, I really recommend going to Mongkok, because it literally has everything – NYX, Laniege, Sasa, Watson’s, Innisfree, Etude House and more!

The items I purchased were:

  • 2 Head Stick: Highlighting and Contour – Miniso
  • Ocean Spring Penetrate and Moisturising Tencel Mask – Miniso
  • Makeup Tools: Pro Fine Cream Blending Brush and Eyeshadow Brush – Miniso
  • We Bare Bears: Deep Hydrating Facial Mask – Miniso
  • We Bare Bears: Eye Masks – Miniso
  • 6 Pack False Eyelashes – Miniso
  • Waterproof Eyeliner – Miniso
  • 1+1 Waterproof Gel Eyeliner – Miniso
  • We Bare Bears: Ice Bear Winter Perfume – Miniso
  • Laniege: Water Sleeping Mask – Sasa
  • Muji: Face Lotion Sheet (5 pc) – Muji (not pictured)

2 Head Stick: Highlighting and Contour:

I have never really been a fan of contouring, it was just too much of a hassle. I have previously tried contour powders, and decided to pick up this contour stick because I thought it’d make contouring a little bit easier.

The formula is super creamy and blendable. The contour shade can also be used as eyeshadow for a super natural look. The highlight shade can also be used as a brow bone highlight.

I really like this contour/highlight stick and hope to get more used out of it in the future.

Ocean Spring Penetrate and Moisturising Tencel Mask (not pictured):

This mask is the blue sheet mask in the photo.

The packaging is all in Chinese, but it is a moisturising mask.

Makeup Tools: Pro Fine Cream Blending Brush and Eyeshadow Brush:

I decided to pick these up in Miniso because I was looking for more eye brushes. At first, I wasn’t going to pick up any brushes because I had so many. But after seeing the price of these ($19.9HKD, about $3~ AUD for both brushes), it was a deal that I couldn’t pass up. I have been really enjoying using the eyeshadow brush.

I have also used the cream blending brush as a lip brush and it works so well! I really recommend Miniso brushes to anyone looking for affordable brushes. I have 3 other Miniso brushes and they are really good quality, even better than my high end brushes.

We Bare Bears: Deep Hydrating Facial Mask:

Clearly you can see a We Bare Bears theme going on haha! They are so adorable, I couldn’t not purchase these!

This is a deep hydrating mask, I normally don’t go for hydrating masks because I have oily skin, but it was winter over there, so I decided to pick up some hydrating items.

We Bare Bears: Eye Masks:

I’ve never tried eye masks like these, and they were super cute and cheap so obviously, they had to go in the basket.

They’re like a normal sheet mask, but only for the eye area – imagine a sheet mask for the face, but cut in half.

This was a fun little mask, but I don’t think it does much for my eyes.

6 Pack False Eyelashes:

I normally get cheap lashes from Daiso, or whatever no-name brand my friend gifts me. I wear lashes on special occasions + when I am wearing a full face of makeup to really make my eyes pop. I wear glasses, so finding the perfect set of falsies isn’t easy for me.

These lashes look super natural – as their name suggests. I just wish their lash band was a bit thicker, having a thin lash band keeps it natural-looking, but it makes it a bit harder for me to put them on because of my vision – though I suppose that doesn’t really make sense to anyone but myself.

Waterproof Eyeliner:

The eyeliner I brought overseas was starting to run out so I bought a new one. This eyeliner is a felt tip eyeliner and is so easy to apply.

I wouldn’t say it is entirely waterproof, it does run a little bit, but it’s not that big of a deal.

Still a very great eyeliner for the price (10RMB, roughly $1.95AUD~).

1+1 Waterproof Gel Eyeliner:

I’ve never tried gel eyeliners so this was a first for me.

I’ve used it a few times already, and the formula is lovely! I’ve heard that gel liners are great for those with oily lids – which is me sometimes. The brush that it comes with it terrible though, it’s too stiff and doesn’t help provide a very precise wing. It works better with a soft angled brush instead.

I’m looking forward to getting more use out of this!

We Bare Bears: Ice Bear Winter Perfume:

I don’t have a particular favourite bear from We Bare Bears as they’re all equally adorable. They had a perfume for each season, but I think the Winter one smelt the best. Miniso has so many mini perfumes available for purchase. They even have ones dedicated to the different star signs!

The perfume atomiser that I brought overseas was running out before my trip was over, so that’s why I grabbed this cute perfume. I love the portability of it, since it is so small anyways 🙂

Laniege: Water Sleeping Mask:

I have seen people rave on and on about this sleeping mask. I went to the Laniege store and it was quite expensive. Then I went into Sasa and saw it for a really great price (129HKD, roughly 20AUD~). I’ve seen this sold online for up to 50AUD, so buying it for close to 20AUD was seriously a steal.

I’ll have a full review of this up in a few weeks.

Muji: Face Lotion Sheet (5 pc) (not pictured):

I had never used these kinds of sheet masks before, and they were super cheap in Hong Kong so I bought a 5 pack to trial them.

These sheet masks are the ones that you DIY, by soaking them in whatever serum/essence/solution you want.

These are really fun masks, and I will definitely pick up some more in the future.

A pretty small haul for someone who was overseas for a month, but to me, spending time with your loved ones is more important than buying a bunch of items. For a while now, I’ve been reducing my expenditures, only buying things that I need, rather than things that I want. If you’re someone looking to save some money, this is a really good mentality to get into!

If you’d like a full review on anything in particular, just leave a comment or DM me on instagram!

Have a great week,

Irene
