Hello beauties,
I went mask shopping a few weeks ago, and wanted to share all the masks that I purchased from The Face Shop. If you’re in Australia, The Face Shop does $2 sheet masks! They have some for $3, $5 and above. I have previously purchased masks from The Face Shop and recommend them to anyone looking for some affordable and amazing quality sheet masks.
They have a variety of face masks targeted towards different skin concerns and skin types. I only picked up 10, but they have about 15 in this range. The ones I picked up were:
- Rice
- Green Tea
- Potato
- Red Ginseng
- Honey
- Pomegranate
- Mung Bean
- Tea Tree
- Lemon
- Kelp
Rice:
The rice mask is used for brightening the skin.
- Softens and brightens rough, darkened skin
- Water-type essence
I have used this one before, and really liked it. I have a pretty tanned face due to sun exposure as a child, using rice products has helped lightened my skin in the very slightest – of course it’s not an overnight process.
Green Tea:
The green tea mask is used for hydration.
- Hydrating and clarifying infuses skin with moisture to clarify complexion
- Water-type essence
I have not tried many green tea products, but I’ve always heard good things.
Potato:
The potato mask is used for soothing.
- Provides cooling sensation to relieve skin that looks tired due to exposure to strong sunlight
- Water-type essence
I have heard that potato is good for acne scars, but I’m not sure whether this is true or not. Regardless, I had to pick this up and give it a go.
Red Ginseng:
The red ginseng mask is used for firming.
- Deeply nourishes skin to make it firmer
- Emulsion-type essence
I don’t really need a ‘firming’ mask, but it doesn’t hurt to try!
Honey:
The honey mask is used for moisturising.
- Hydrates dry, flaky skin and leaves it glowing
- Serum-type essence
I don’t have dry or flaky skin, but I wanted to try a honey mask. I know honey has great skin benefits, especially if it’s manuka honey.
Pomegranate:
The pomegranate mask is used for firming.
- Restores skin’s elasticity and vitality
- Serum-type essence
I love pomegranate the fruit, and have never seen it in any masks. I don’t have any issues with elasticity, but once again it doesn’t hurt to try!
Mung Bean:
The mung bean mask is used for pore care.
- Temporarily tightens pores to create a smoother complexion
- Water-type essence
I’ve used mung bean masks before and they all help with pore minimisation. I haven’t tried the mung bean mask from The Face Shop before, and I have issues with my pores so naturally I chose this mask.
Tea Tree:
The tea tree mask is used for soothing.
- Helps smooth skin that is shiny due to excess oil
- Water-type essence
Tea tree products are really good for those with oily skin! I read the description of this mask and it definitely describes the type of skin I have. I have oily and acne-prone skin, and I’ve never tried a tea tree mask before. I’ve tried tea tree products before, and they do help a little with pimples etc. I hope this mask lives up to my expectations!
Lemon:
The lemon mask is used for brightening.
- Brightens dull skin to create a radiant look
- Water-type essence
Lemon has always been known for its brightening properties. As I’ve mentioned above, I have quite tanned skin and I also have some acne scars. I haven’t tried many lemon products before, but I hope this works well too!
Kelp:
The kelp mask is used for purifying.
- Tones tired skin chapped and stressed by the elements, leaving it smooth and clear
- Water-type essence
I have used the kelp mask from 16brand (available from Mecca Maxima), and I really liked it. When I saw that The Face Shop had a kelp mask, I couldn’t not grab it! I’m looking forward to this one too.
That’s all I have for today, who else is face mask obsessed like me? When I buy sheet masks, I usually buy a heap in one go and stock up and then go out and buy more when I’ve finished my stack.
I try to use a sheet mask at least 2 times a week.
Thanks for reading and have a great week!
Irene
