Review: W7 Very Vegan Range #gifted

Hello everyone!

I hope you’ve all been well, I was gifted these W7 products last month which are part of their Very Vegan range. The products I was gifted were:

I am a fan of W7 products, which are available from Chemist Warehouse in Australia. They have products that start from as cheap as $5. When I used to work at Chemist Warehouse, I was always fascinated by this brand and its affordability. They have all kinds of makeup products available, such as foundation, bronzer, lipstick, to eyeshadow and primers. What ever you need, they have! I highly recommend checking out the brand because they make such quality dupes for some high end products.

Some W7 products I already own/have owned in the past:

The new range is ALL vegan, perfect for those who are looking for cruelty free options.

The natural choice, cruelty free and absolutely no testing on animals.”

Matte Bronzer – Sun Kissed:

Directions:

Dust bronzing powder lightly over the nose, cheeks and forehead for a natural matte sun-kissed look.

Ingredients:

Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Zinc Stearate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Bis-Diglyceryl, Polyacyladipate-2, Dimethicone, Paraffinum Liquidum, Silica, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbitan Oleate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Nylon-12, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polysorbate 80, CL 77499 (Iron Oxide Black), Cl 77492 (Iron Oxide Yellow), Cl 774911 (Iron Oxide Red)

Net weight – 10g/0.35 Oz

First Impressions:

I like that it comes in a compact with a mirror, this is very handy to have. Some might find it a bit bulky though. It is embossed with a heart shaped tree and some grass. I’m normally not a fan of bronzers, but I really liked this one. A little goes a long way, always make sure you blend it out so it doesn’t look muddy. Also tap off any excess powder.

What I like:

  • The colour

It’s a very nice colour and suits my skin colour/foundation shade perfectly!

  • Mirror

I like how the compact has a mirror in it, super handy!

  • Blends easily

I’ve tried other bronzers before, but they never blend out as nicely as this one.

What I don’t like:

  • Bulky

It’s a bit bulky for my personal taste in packaging.

Overall:

A very nice bronzer that I’ll get a lot of use  out of in the future.

Highlighting Powder – Natures Glow:

Directions:

Apply this highlighting powder to your cheekbones and have a gorgeous glowing complexion.

Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl, Palmiate, Polyisbutene, Synthetic Wax, Phenoxyethanol, Paraffinum Liquidum, Tin Oxide, Ethylexylglycerin, [+/- May contain/ Peut Contenir: CI 77019 (Mica), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77492 (Iron Oxide Yellow), CI 77491 (Iron Oxide Red), CI 77499 (Iron Oxide Black)].

Net Weight – 10g/0.35Oz.

First Impressions:

This also comes in the same packaging as the bronzer – compact with a mirror. It’s quite bulky once again. The shade is so beautiful, and the highlight glides on smoothly. Once again, it’s also embossed with the same pattern as the bronzer. A really lovely highlight.
What I like:

  • Shade

The shade is a really nice and subtle colour, perfect for that natural highlight.

  • Blends easily

This one blends like a dream as well.

  • Mirror

Always convenient to have a mirror on hand.

What I don’t like:

  • Packaging

Similar opinions to the bronzer, great product but the packaging itself is a bit bulky for my taste.
Overall:

Very impressed with this product, another great product by W7! Affordable and vegan friendly, perfect for beginners or for artists to have in their kit. Their highlighters are huge and will last ages, so forking out that $5 is such an affordable investment!

Liquid Eyeliner – Very Black:

Directions:

Create bold or thinner lines with the easy to use applicator tip and get the look you desire.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Acrylates Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethicone, Ethylexyglycerin, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA, [+/- May contain / Peut Contenir: CI 77499 (Iron Oxide Black), carbon black (nano).

Net Weight – 5ml/ 0.18 Fl OZ.
First Impressions:

Very nice packaging, it is a ‘dip pot’ type of eyeliner. Perfect for those on the go because of how compact it is. Super pigmented and perfect for those who aren’t very experienced with eyeliner/winged eyeliner. The tip applicator helps you become an expert in creating that perfect wing. It dries super fast. The tip could be thinner, for my personal taste.

What I like:

  • Pigment

Very pigmented, who doesn’t love a black eyeliner?!

  • Fast drying

Dries in no time, I know we’ve all experienced eyeliners that take f o r e v e r to dry, but this dries surprisingly quick!

  • Packaging

Really nice and convenient packaging.

  • Smudge proof

Though it doesn’t claim to be smudge proof, it did not come off when I rubbed my eye. Only when excessive force is applied, it will rub off – but that’s really a given with any makeup product.

What I don’t like:

  • Applicator

Personally, I think the tip could be thinner, just because I like a thin tip for my eyeliners.
Overall:

Decent eyeliner, I recommend those who like dip eyeliners to give this a go! Very affordable once again and I am a big fan of how pigmented it is!

Moisture Rich Lipstick – Marvellous Maple:

Directions:

Apply this lipstick for long lasting colour that’ll keep your lips feeling moisturised.

Ingredients:

The ingredients were too long for me to type out so I have attached a picture.

First Impressions:

I love the colour, but it doesn’t compliment my skin tone which was disappointing. It smells like those lipsticks that you have when you’re younger – it’s hard to explain, but the smell is so nostalgic. It’s super soft upon application, it’s like spreading butter.

It also has a detachable compartment, similar to ELF lipsticks, however I am not sure if it’s an actual gloss or not, but the texture and colour is very similar to that of a gloss. For safety reasons, it’s probably best not to apply that compartments product onto your lips.

What I like:

  • Colour

Such a lovely colour, it’s kind of like an everyday nude.

  • Softness

Seriously one of the softest lipsticks I’ve ever applied.

  • Smell

I’m kind of a fan of the smell, though I don’t think that’d be for everyone haha.

What I don’t like:

  • Colour

I’d be more inclined to use the lipstick if the colour was more suitable for my skin tone.

  • Formula

I’m not sure if it’s my lips or not, but the formula doesn’t stay on my lips as well as other lipsticks do.

Unedited swatches

Overall:

Lovely lipstick, but the shade and formula just don’t do it for me. If the formula was different and the shade was more suited for me, I’d be a fan of this, but unfortunately I am not.

I think the colour will suit someone who is pale/has light skin. I am quite tanned, so having this shade on my lips just makes me look kind of silly.

As the world changes, where more people are opting for vegan alternatives to everyday products or even in their lifestyle, it’s always nice to have some vegan makeup options for those who seek them. W7 has always been an affordable brand and I don’t think that’ll change any time soon, so I highly recommend checking out this amazing brand – available at Chemist Warehouse for those in Australia.

Have you tried any products from the Very Vegan range? I’d love to know your thoughts.

With love,

Irene
