Review: Yehwadam Pure Brightening Serum #gifted

Hello!

As some of you may know, I had the pleasure of attending my first blogger event at Boniik in Sydney. For those who don’t know, Boniik is the sister store of The Face Shop, which is the number 1 cosmetic brand in Korea with over 3000 stores in 35 countries. With the ever-growing interest in Korean beauty, Korean beauty products are cutting edge and innovative and tend to include exotic ingredients, with a focus on a multi-step beauty routine. Which is why retailers, such as Sephora and Mecca have launched various k-beauty brands.

At the event, I was gifted an abundance of items, which I will be doing blog posts on over the next few weeks. But for today, I will be reviewing the pure brightening serum by Yehwadam*, which you can purchase here.

It is 45ml in size and retails for 89AUD. You can purchase it online from the link above (if you’re not from Sydney), where there is international shipping, a welcome voucher for when you sign up and samples with every order! Alternatively, you can visit the Boniik store in Sydney at 42G/100 George St, Sydney NSW 2000.

Before we get into this, I have oily/acne-prone skin with pigmentation, uneven skin tone, texture and redness/scarring.

The soft-shine brightening serum infuses dull skin with moisture and reduces the appearance of dark spots and pigmentation. Glowing essence that penetrates deep into skin providing intense moisture, restores dull skin tone, and provides whitening getting rid of dark spots.

A Premium Brightening and Anti-aging line from the Yehwadam range specifically developed to reveal skin’s brightness and radiance, leaving skin visibly brighter by improving appearance of pigmentations, dark spots, and dull skin tone.

Formulated with “Chil bark seol yun dan complex” which is a brightening formula consisting of 7 brightening and pristine traditional herbs harvested in Korean soil, that helps fight dark spots while brightening up your skin tone with anti-aging effect.

Directions:

Apply every morning and evening, after cleansing face, apply adequate amount on face and pat lightly for absorption.

Ingredients:

Niacinamide, Soybean fermentation extract, Yeast/potato extract fermentation filtrate, Yeast/barley fermented filtrate, Macadamia seed oil, Shea butter, Ceramide NP, Pearl powder, Ginseng extract, Cnidium Officinale Roost extract, Ginseng extract, Polygonum Multiflorum Roost extract, Angelica gigas Nakai extract, Cuscuta Japonica Seed Extract, Chinese matrimony vine extract, Corn oil extract, Schizandra Chinesnsis Fruit extract, Jujube extract, Peony extract, Ginkgo Biloba extract, Lonicera Japonica extract, Adenosine

First Impressions:

The packaging is really lovely! Easy to use, since it has a pump dispenser. It has a little bit of fragrance, it just smells like flowers. The serum itself is white in colour and super gentle. It melts into the skin and doesn’t leave it feeling greasy. Any product applied after the serum, really absorbed into my skin nicely.

What I like:

Packaging

I think the packaging is really nice and simplistic, yet elegant. Pump serums are so easy to use, and totally convenient. Not to mention, the lid is very nicely designed as well.

Gentle

I’ve tried all different kinds of serums, most feel like an oil, or leave you feeling kind of greasy. But this one is super gentle, its texture is like a lighter lotion.

Aids absorption

Any products applied afterwards really melted into the skin!

Smell

The smell is similar to flowers, it’s really subtle and adds a nice touch to the product.

Ingredients

It has niacinamide listed as one of the ingredients, which is really effective for brightening the skin. Soybean has also been known for having brightening properties.

What I don’t like:

Nothing

Not that this is a dislike, but I can see that the price might be a bit expensive for some, but I think it’s worth the investment. A little goes a long way with this!

Overall:

I really liked this serum, it did help brighten my skin a bit – fading some scars and reducing the redness on my face. I’ve been trialling this for a few weeks so the results right now are pretty decent, I can’t wait to see how my skin looks and feels with continual use! I highly recommend for those looking for something to brighten their skin.

If you’re looking for other brightening products, you may want to take a look at the brightening range – there’s a toner, emulsion and a cream, all created to help create a brighter complexion for you!

That’s all I have for this week, see you back here next week with a new post!

With love,

Irene

    1. Yes, I used it a few years ago when my skin type was more on the oily side. I recommend it if you’re looking for something to brighten your skin tone. Unfortunately I am no longer using this, this blog post was from two years ago and I have since finished the product.
