So I turned 22….

Hello my friends!

It was my birthday the other week, and I wanted to share what I did. I’ve previously done this, I believe I did one two years ago…anyways, let’s get to it!

On my actual birthday, I had uni which is great and had an assignment due haha. It’s been a stressful month for me because uni is just crazy at the moment, but I’m super close to graduating.

On the weekend though, I had a little picnic with my close friends in the city, I initially planned a bigger event with more people, but because of Covid, amongst other things, I decided to keep it small. I haven’t been able to see my friends much this year, though we barely see each other a lot throughout the year because we’re all studying/working/socialising.

I kept my makeup quite natural-ish for the day, because I planned to wear a mask on the bus and on the way home, so I didn’t want to go too overboard. Here is what I wore, and I loved the result! Super glowy, and what I would call natural glam I guess haha, not too glamourous but I just loved the look at the end of the day!

We met up at Martin Place in Sydney and made our way to the Royal Botanical Gardens and had a great time, it was a bit gloomy that day, but the sun came out a few hours later. We just drank, ate and caught up with each other!

We had so much food that’s not pictured haha

Afterwards, we walked back to Pitt Street Mall and I decided to go to Myer because it has a Mecca inside, and redeem my birthday gift. I’m only Level 1, so I got the little mask set – which I suppose is fitting, because I could bring it to my little staycay.

Inside was the Mecca Cosmetica Hydrating Hydrogel Sheet Mask and the Hydrogel Eye Mask

The following weekend I spent away with my boyfriend, another person who I haven’t seen that much of this year. We stayed at an Airbnb in a lovely suburb which had a gorgeous view of the water and the opposing buildings – it was like a skyline.

Here’s a screenshot of the video I took of the view from our balcony

We bought food to cook in the Airbnb, and we also ate at a burger joint not too far away from where we were staying as well. The weather was not great unfortunately, it was hot, then raining and storming, but I had the best company so I didn’t mind haha.

Our breakfast on the last day we spent together! The food was ok, this place is pretty highly rated but I found it to be a bit meh. Overall though, it had a nice interior and the food was fairly affordable – all this for $44!

I don’t have a lot of photos to share with you all, because they’re pretty personal and I mostly took videos over the weekend.

Overall, it was a great birthday, given the circumstances of this year. Every year I reflect on the year that went by, and I always determine whether it was a great year, by all the new things I experienced when I was that age. I would say being 21 has provided a lot of challenges, new experiences and growth, which has all shaped me to be the person I am today. I hope being 22 brings me many more blessings in my career and my personal life!

Thank you for reading today’s post, a bit more personal than usual, though I usually don’t share too many personal details of my life, but I hope you enjoyed this one!

With love,
