Meet me Mondays with Sanju – @sensitiveskingal

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while but I’m finally back with another interview! Today I’m interviewing the lovely Sanju from @sensitiveskingal – please check her out if you haven’t already! I’ll quit stalling, keep reading to find out more about her!

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hi, I’m Sanju, the person behind @SENSITIVESKINGAL! I’m 21, and am from Melbourne, Australia. I’m a bit of an extroverted introvert, so although I’m such a skincare enthusiast, if you met me in person, you’d probably never find that out from me.

I’m incredibly passionate about financial literacy, I think it’s such an important skill to have so I’m always reading something related to that. In terms of hobbies, my main one is probably photography. I’m at a stage in my life right now where I’m still trying to figure out what I genuinely enjoy so the past couple of months and the upcoming months have been and will be dedicated to stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things out to see what I enjoy the most.

You’ve recently combined your financial and beauty page into one: do you have any exciting content planned?

I do have a few things up my sleeve! It’s honestly a little nerve wracking to combine two different niches into one because both my pages have been so separate and dedicated to their respective topics. I’m all about sharing information, I think there’s plenty of success to share around with everyone, so I hope my content helps someone out there! If anyone ever does have a request, I’m usually an open book, so please slide into my DMs, I’d be happy to chat!

What has been your biggest achievement/milestone for this year so far?

To be completely honest, this year has been so much harder for me personally than last year with COVID-19. I’m probably most proud of how I’ve been dealing with all of that.

In terms of achievements with my @sensitiveskingal page, I think the biggest will always be that brands enjoy my content so much that they continually want to work with me. I started my page mainly as an escape – I didn’t care for followers, or PR or any of that. But the fact that people and brands support me and my content is still such a pinch me moment – it’s honestly such a humbling experience.

What are three products you’ve been loving lately?

I’ve been loving The Beauty Chef’s Cookbook. I’m trying to get more into cooking and learning about food, so I’m loving reading through that.

I’m also currently going through a custard donut phase, does this count as a product? I also totally acknowledge how these two products totally contradict each other in terms of health but life’s all about balance, right?

The third thing I’ve been loving is the Christophe Robin Purifying Scalp Scrub. If anyone suffers from dandruff or an overly oily scalp, this will be your best friend.

Are you currently reading/watching/listening to anything good?

I’m currently re-reading Mindful Money by Canna Campbell. It’s all about organising your finances and investing in your future – so if that’s something you’re interested in, I’d highly recommend checking it out! It’s a really great starting position if you don’t know where to begin.

If you were stuck on an island for 48 hours, what 3 things would you bring with you?

Is it bad that I don’t even need to think about this one haha!

I would say Ultraviolette’s Clean Screen, Biologi’s Bf serum (the most versatile, soothing and hydrating skincare product I’ve ever tried) and some pen and paper (because I’m that person who could write a million different to do lists).

Do you have any photography tips you can share with us?

My two biggest tips are spontaneity and good natural sunlight. Although it would be nice, I don’t think it’s necessary to have fancy photography equipment or an elaborate set up. Some days I’ll sit and try to take photos an hour and the photos just won’t turn out how I want them to, and that’s ok. That’s usually my sign to pack up, and try again some other day. The other incredible thing about photography and editing is the more you practice, the easier it becomes to find a style that you like and works best for you.

As we head into winter, what trusty skincare products will you be keeping by your side?

Hydration is usually what I reach for the most during winter so: Biologi Bf Serum, Biologi Lip Serum (yes, I’m obsessed with the brand and their products) and the La Roche-Posay Sheet Masks.

What are you looking forward to this year?

I will hopefully graduate at the end of this semester, if everything goes to plan. That means I’ll get to take a gap semester to work and spend more time doing things I enjoy so I’m definitely excited for the upcoming break.

Where can we find you on social media?

You can find me at @sensitiveskingal on Instagram!

I hope you enjoyed learning more about Sanju, don’t forget to check out her page! That’s all for now, a new review will be up next week!

With love,
