Review: Glamourflage Nourishing Range #gifted

Hello!

It’s been some time since my last blog post – I’ve been so busy with uni assessments and personal commitments, but I’m back now and there are plenty more blog posts to come. Thank you to everyone who continued to support me despite my absence, it means the world. Getting onto today’s blog post, I’ll be reviewing some products from the Nourishing range by Glamourflage.

For those who don’t know, Glamourflage is an Australian brand, inspired by the fun and glamour of 1940s and 50s pin up girls – hence the timely packaging! Glamourflage stocks a wide range of different products – Gina Glam, Sexy Sadie, Lovely Laura and so on. The range I’ll be reviewing from is the Darling Jodie range*. I was gifted:

Darling Jodie Nourishing Cleanser

Formulated with Amino Acid, this gentle cleanser cleanses away facial dirt and excess oil and balances the skin pH, leaving you suppler and smoother skin without dry and tight.

Directions:

Lather adequate amount to your face. Gently massage in circular motion for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Ingredients:

WATER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM COCOYLGLYCINATE, GLYCERIN, SODIUM LAUROYL GLUTAMATE, SODIUM COCOYL ISETHIONATE, SODIUM COCOYL GLYCINATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, PEG-150 DISTEARATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, LAURIC ACID, MYRISTIC ACID, ACRYLATES/STEARETH-20 METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER, PARFUM, METHYL BENZOATE, GLYCOL, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE, DISODIUM EDTA

First Impressions:

Really gentle cream cleanser that comes in an easy to use tub packaging. Decent sizing and suitable for travel – it’s only 100g. It has lauric acid and myristic acid. It’s suitable for all skin types – I have oily and found this was really gentle on my skin. Has a scent, but I don’t mind it. Didn’t leave my skin feeling dry, actually felt pretty nourishing – like its name suggests.

What I like:

  • packaging

The packaging is convenient and stands out. Easy to store in the shower racks or in the bathroom cupboards.

  • scent

As I mentioned, it has a slight smell to it. I find the smell to be very nice and easy on the nose. Sometimes I like scented products, sometimes I don’t, but this one isn’t overpowering at all which is great!

  • texture

As I said, it’s a creamy texture and lathers nicely. Super gentle on the skin. I’m usually pretty picky about what cleansers I use, but this one was amazing. I used it once a day in the shower (I use something else for the morning), and this just felt so good on my skin.

What I don’t like:

  • nothing

There are no faults, I swear!

Overall:

I really enjoyed using this cleanser. It doesn’t strip my skin, instead it leaves it feeling hydrated and smooth after each use. The smell is lovely, all the products in the range carry a similar smell IMO. That’s pretty much it, there’s nothing bad to say about it at all. It retails for $19 which isn’t too bad IMO, it’s a little above your average drugstore cleanser, but I think it’s worth a try if you’re not too fussed on skincare and you’re after a simple cleanser.

Darling Jodie Nourishing Toner 150ml

Thanks to this moist skin softener which powered with nourishing ingredients to retain moisture and help reducing fine lines. Now you can draw a solid line to fill the lines on your face.

Directions:

Use after cleansing. Pat the softener to face with a cotton pad, avoiding eye area.

Ingredients:

WATER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERYL STEARATE, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, STEARETH-20, CETETH-20, PARFUM, PEG-90M, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, PPG-26-BUTETH-26, BIS-PEG-15 METHYL ETHER DIMETHICONE, NEOPENTYL GLYCOL DICAPRATE, CETYL ETHYLHEXANOATE, CHLORPHENESIN, PHENOXYETHANOL, CITRIC ACID, POLYGLYSERIN-6

First Impressions:

I wasn’t expecting the packaging to be the way it is at first, same with the texture. Most toners I’ve used are liquid-y – kind of like water. But this has a sort of ‘stick’ to it, it’s a tinyyy bit thicker than water consistency, I’d say like a light serum in texture. The bottle is a decent size, and at first I tried it with a cotton pad but found it wasn’t as effective when applying. I tried it with my hands, and felt it was a lot better + it reduces waste (less cotton pads being used).

After the initial trials, I found this was great for DIY sheet masks – the ones where you soak a compressed sheet mask in some sort of serum and then it expands into a proper sheet mask. I also used this for my 7 skin method and it worked a treat.

What I like:

  • packaging

I know I comment on packaging a lot, but after I got over the shock of the packaging (hardly a shock haha), I found that it was very durable and well designed. It’s convenient to pour out.

  • size

I used it consistently for a few weeks and I still had lots left over. Realistically, you’d use about 3-5 drops for your face and neck, two times a day so you know this is something that’ll last a few months at the least.

  • hydrating

It’s very hydrating, as I mentioned I used it for 7 skin method and DIY masks and they work really well. Great for winter when your skin needs that bit of a pick me up due to the cold wind.

What I don’t like:

  • nothing!

I really enjoyed this too!

Overall:

This was a different toner to my usual ones, it’s what I would call a ‘hydrating toner’, one you’d use after an acidic toner to bring back the moisture in your skin. Really recommend it for the 7 skin method because it seriously is so hydrating! It retails for $28AUD, which is a bit more than what I’d normally pay for a toner, so I don’t think it’s entirely affordable.

Darling Jodie Nourishing Essence 30ml

Enriched with nourishing ingredients from Australia Macadamia Oil and Jojoba Oil to deeply nourish and replenish nutrients and water to skin. It also helps to lock in water and gives you a suppler and smoother skin.

Directions:

Use after cleansing and toning. Shake well and gently massage adequate amount to face until fully absorbed. Avoiding eye area.

Ingredients:

WATER, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, PARFUM, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, PROPYL BENZOATE, CAPRYLYL TRIMETHICONE, BENZOPHENONE-3, SIMMONDSIA CHINENSIS (JOJOBA) SEED OIL, MACADAMIA TERNIFOLIA SEED OIL, CI 17200, CITRIC ACID, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE

First Impressions:

I was really impressed by this at first because it had two colours! It’s pink and yellow and the essence kind of reminds me of oil in appearance, but it applies on the skin like an essence. I love that it comes in a dropper – talk about convenience.

What I like:

  • packaging

I love droppers, need I say more.

  • ingredients

There’s macadamia oil and jojoba oil, which is nourishing to the skin.

  • effect

My skin felt really smooth and nourishing after use.

What I don’t like:

  • kind of greasy

It’s not entirely noticeable, but after application, my skin looked a little greasy. But that dried after a while, and with the layering of other skincare products on top, it was fine. It just caught me off guard when I started using it.

  • product amount

Maybe it’s just me, but I used this up pretty quickly.

Overall:

I did like this as well, and as you can see it had some minor faults. I really enjoyed how my skin felt after using it, and the colours of the essence was interesting too. I’ve never used an essence that required shaking, so this was something new to me. As it retails for $39AUD, I wouldn’t say it’s entirely affordable, I’d consider this a bit of a splurge based on my spending. It also says it’s especially ideal for dry and very dry skin – which I don’t have. I have oily skin and this sat nicely, despite that semi-greasy feeling.

Darling Jodie Nourishing Eye Cream 25g

Containing Australia Macadamia Oil and Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, this fantastic eye cream easily penetrates into skin, nourish and repair eye area. It also helps to reduce fine lines and your eyes sparkle like stars.

Directions:

Apply small amount to your fingertips and gently dab around eye area then massage in circular motion to assist absorption. Suitable for day and night use.

Ingredients:

WATER, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, DICAPRYLYL CARBONATE, SQUALANE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, DIMETHICONE, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, STEARYL ALCOHOL, C10-30 CHOLESTEROL/LANOSTEROL ESTERS, PEG-20 PHYTOSTEROL, GLYCERYL STEARATE, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, C12-15 ALKYL BENZOATE, TRIBEHENIN, CERAMIDE 2, PEG-10 RAPESSEED STEROL, PALMITOYL OLIGOPEPTIDE,  TOCOPHERYL ACETATE,  ARGININE,  METHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN, FRAGRANCE,  DISODIUM EDTA, MACADAMIA TERNIFOLIA SEED OIL, CARBOMER, POLYSORBATE 20, PALMITOYL PENTAPEPTIDE-3, DIMETHICONOL, CYCLOTETRASILOXANE, HESPERIDIN METHYL CHALCONE, STEARETH-20, DIPEPTIDE-2, PALMITOYL TETRAPEPTIDE-7, PHENOXYETHANOL, CI77492

First Impressions:

It comes in a small tub, but is big in quantity – 25g. Eye creams I’ve used in the past have had way less than this so I was pleased with the size. I actually prefer eye creams in a tub, I know some people will be thrown due to the sanitary conditions, but I like seeing when I’m close to finishing a product. The cream is yellow and smells like all the other products in the range. I really only needed a a dot under each eye, followed by smoothing the cream out with my ring finger. It definitely is nourishing, and was good for preventing dry under eyes in winter – which I sometimes get.

What I like:

  • packaging

Love that it comes in a tub. An eye cream that I’ve used in the past came in a tube and I found it to be inconvenient when reaching the finishing line as it was hard to get the product out.

  • smell

Lovely scent, once again not overpowering.

  • nourishing

This was really gentle and nourishing. I wish it helped with dark under eye bags as well.

  • product amount

25g is a lot for an eye cream, and you only need a little bit. This has lasted me about 2 months so far and I use it twice a day. The tub is about half way done, but I can still get many applications.

What I don’t like:

  • price

Although I loved this eye cream, I think the price is too much for me.

Overall:

Great product, probably the best eye cream I’ve used. Suitable for all skin types is also a plus! If you’re looking for a nourishing eye cream I suggest to give this one a go. Even on days when I’m pretty lazy with my skincare, I still put my eye cream on and it legit takes two seconds from the moment I open the tub and apply.

As I mentioned above, the only fault here is the pricing. I think it’s a bit too much for me to spend on an eye cream, but if price isn’t a problem for you, then I recommend this.

That’s all I have for you guys today, thanks for reading! Have you tried this range before, let me know your thoughts in the comments.

As always, with love,

Irene
