My Go-To Work Makeup

Hello everyone and welcome back!

Sorry for the hiatus but it was much needed. My exams and everything are all over for the time being. In this break I have now until the next month, I hope to complete as many things as possible and slowly get closer to reaching my goals!

Anyways, today I’ll be showing you my go-to work makeup! I haven’t done a blog post like this before so I thought it would be interesting to share with you all.

So I work at Priceline which is a drugstore in Australia and when I first started working I only wore the basics to work – brows, liner, blush and highlighter. Since then, I’ve purchased a foundation (my first ever foundation that I’ve bought, yes I know my FIRST EVER because finding a foundation is such a struggle for me but that’s a story for another day) and have been wearing a full face to work more. It takes me about 20-30 minutes to do my skincare + makeup in the morning so it’s kind of rushed but I just do my best haha.

The products I use (in order) are:

Emina Agent of Brow in Brown:

I got this from a beauty exchange I hosted last year. Emina is an Indonesian beauty brand that does all kinds of makeup and skincare products. I have a few other Emina products as well. This is in brown, I forgot the name of the actual shade but it’s kind of a light brown. I’d prefer if it was a little darker though, as I have dark hair.

What I do for my brows is I use the pencil to outline and then I fill the rest in with brow powder.

LoL Brow Powder in 02 + Revlon Eyeliner Brush:

I got this brow powder from Kmart many years ago and didn’t know how to use it so I never really touched it. Since then I’ve learnt so much more about the importance of brows.

As I said above, I just use this to fill my brows in and I use a Revlon brush that I got years ago too. It’s actually a really good brush, I’m not sure why they discontinued it.

Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation in Warm Beige + Simple Glam Girls Oval Brush C*:

I love this foundation! If you follow me on IG you’ll see that I rave about this any chance that I get. I so highly recommend it! I use it with this oval brush I was gifted when I first started my blog.

I love how easy it is to apply my foundation with this brush but I do find that it’s hard to clean because of the density of the bristles.

Etude House My Little Nut Eyeshadow Palette in Lucky Red Little Nut* + Zoeva Luxe Soft Definer 227:

Lately I’ve been using this palette for work because I love the pink shade in it. It looks more red in the palette but applies and looks pink on the skin. I always get complimented on my eyeshadow at work when I use this palette. I did a mini review of the palette here.

I pair it with the Zoeva brush because it’s super soft and blends out my eyeshadow nicely 🙂

Miniso Eyeliner:

I have used a bunch of eyeliners before and I honestly don’t notice much of a difference between the high end ones and the drugstore ones – I want to do a blog post talking about this in the future so keep an eye out!

I have two liners from Miniso that I use interchangeably. One is a skinny one and the other is a dual-ended one – one side has a star stamp and the other side is a thick ended liner. I love using liner to create wings because I find that it flatters my eye shape and makes me look cuter haha.

NYX Double Stacked Mascara/Benefit They’re Real Mascara Primer:

I use these mascaras interchangeably as well. I’ve spoken about the NYX one before, you can read about it here. Since that post, the mascara has grown on me a bit, but I don’t see myself purchasing it or anything in the near future – I’m just trying to use it some more before I throw it out.

The NYX one can be a bit hard to use because the wand picks up way too much product at once and I find myself wiping it off the wand before I use it, otherwise I’d be left with spidery looking lashes.

As for the Benefit one, like I said, it’s a primer but I just wear it on it’s own because I find it to look too heavy or unnatural when I wear mascara over it. I like the wand because it picks up the right amount of product and makes my lashes look longer and remains natural looking.

Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Loose Setting Power + ELF Total Face Brush:

I love the smell of this powder, it’s the second loose powder I’ve ever used – the drugstore one I’ve tried is the one from Rimmel, which I also recommend. I like the packaging and I pair it with the ELF brush for an even application over my face.

Fun fact – when I first bought that brush years ago (this was in like junior high school when I had no idea about makeup) I thought it was a foundation brush. I was so confused because there were so many different base brushes so I grabbed this one because it said total face haha so I thought it was kind of multipurpose.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Love Hangover + Miniso Brush:

I just started using this blush and it’s nice. I find that it does not last as long as it claims – it claims to last 16 hours.

I pair it with a Miniso blush brush I got overseas a few years ago – hence the lack of links because I bought them all overseas. It’s really good quality and it was super affordable too.

W7 Glowcomotion + Miniso Brush:

My favourite highlighter of all time. This is so cheap it’s $5 and if you’re in Australia, you can get it from Chemist Warehouse. It can be used as a highlight, shimmer or eyeshadow. It lasts ages and it’s so blinding and buildable – plus it stays on your skin for so long! It doesn’t fade or rub off that much either!

The Miniso brush I use is actually a concealer brush but I find the shape perfect to fit under my brows. I also highlight my nose and cheekbones – on top of my blush.

Skinfood Tomato Cool Jelly Lip Tint in Cherry Tomato*
/Cargo Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Belgium*:

I try not to wear so much lip products when I’m working because I’m constantly drinking water and I hate when lip products transfer and I basically end up eating it haha.

I use the tint for a bit of redness on my lips and I use the gloss when I want a bit of a subtle shine to my lips.

Cargo Cosmetics Gloss

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray:

I used to set my face a whole lot, but after purchasing the setting powder from Too Faced, I found that I don’t really need setting spray anymore. That being said, I went without setting spray one night (I forgot to apply it before I left the house) and it was really windy, my face felt so stiff. In that time I felt like setting spray would’ve helped my face but it’s probably just in my head – I mean, it was realllly cold and windy that night haha.

I keep a setting spray around just for extra security haha, it’s like a placebo effect.

And that’s it! That’s my makeup routine for work. From time to time I might change up my lip products or blush or eyeshadow, but besides that most things stay the same. I don’t own a whole lot of some products because I want to finish them before purchasing more. I own the most lipsticks out of my collection because I was gifted a whole bunch one time (which I’m incredibly grateful for) and I’m going through them veryyyy slowly haha. Thanks for reading this weeks post, a new post will be up next week!

What’s your go-to work makeup?

With love,
