Hello everyone!
Welcome back to another post – today I will be talking all about the 30 day mask challenge. What this is, is using a sheet mask for a month/30 days and that’s pretty much it! I wanted to talk about my experience, because I have seen some people say that they got amazing results from doing this. The mask I will be using is the Dewy Tree Refreshing Aqua Mask which comes in a box, which reduces wastage from single packet masks. I’ve wanted to start purchasing more environmentally friendly products/reduce wastage from my beauty products. I might do a blog post on this later, but for now, let’s discuss these masks.
I wasn’t intending to purchase these ones, I wanted to purchase a 30 mask pack from another site, but this works out to be cheaper ($32/30 = $1.06 per mask). On the Myer website, they have a calming mask and brightening mask – both available in the 30 pack. I didn’t do much research on the products to be honest, I just added it to my cart of sale items haha.
I just wanted to quickly talk about the packaging, it comes in a box and it’s mostly in Korean and there are some illustrations on the side which briefly talks about the ingredients and the product. There is also a space for you to fill in the date of when you first start using it and the intended last day, i.e. 30 days from the start date. There are directions on the box and ingredients in English as well, I have left these below.
You can jump complicated basic skin care step in the busy morning before makeup.
Moisturising with 3 layers of hyalyronic acid for dehydrated skin, and a gentle peeling care with AHA ingredients.
Directions:
- After cleansing, soothe your face with toner.
- Take the mask out of its package, place the mask gently well around the eyes.
- Rest for about 10-20 minutes and remove the mask.
- Let the skin absorb the remaining essence by gently patting the skin.

My experience:
Just wanted to start off with the exterior – comes in a very nice box, a secure lid, and some tweezers for the added hygienic practice of removing the sheet masks from the box. I’m not a big fan of the smell, it’s probably from the citric acid, even though it’s quite low on the ingredient list, the smell is still quite there.
The fit of the mask is pretty decent, it’s a good size where the eye and mouth holes are. The quality of the sheet mask is good too, it didn’t break at all throughout usage.
What I did notice after the..5 day mark, the masks got dry pretty fast, compared to when I started using them. I normally keep it on for about 20-30 minutes, depending on what I’m doing. However, after about 10 minutes, it started to feel like it was drying out. This may also be due to the weather, it has been quite hot, yet humid in Sydney when I was testing this out.
At the 1-1.5 week mark, I noticed a change in my skin. It was more hydrated and kind of bouncy.
At the 2 week mark, I noticed how many sheet masks I’ve used already haha. The box is half empty and my skin is looking pretty good! I actually haven’t worn makeup for a while, so I’m not sure how this has affected my makeup/how my makeup sits on my skin. It’s just been too hot lately to wear a full face, not to mention, there’s no aircon at my work and I am suffering every shift 😦
Will update in the coming weeks, because I’m sure I’ll be wearing makeup somewhere haha!
At the 3 week mark, I have found it’s pretty much the same results as week 2. I still am yet to do a full face!
At the 4 week mark, I found that the sheet masks had more serum than the previous 2 weeks. This is probably due to the serum at the bottom of the box, and the serum didn’t get to penetrate and middle sheet masks as well. I finally did a full face with foundation, and on another occassion, a BB cream. With the foundation, I found that my dry patches were less apparent. Sometimes I skin flakes around the mouth area when I have foundation on, but since doing the mask challenge, my skin doesn’t flake as much. As for with the bb cream, it sits on my skin better than the foundation, and I have no dry patches around the mouth area!
Would I recommend it?
Hmmm….all in all, I have found my skin to be more hydrated and less dry patches, especially when wearing makeup – which is great! But in all honesty, who even has the time to do a mask everyday (well I’m sure we can all spare 10 minutes of our day), but for me, sometimes I just want to do my full skincare routine in one go and just relax the remainder of the evening.
I’m glad I tried out this little challenge, but I probably wouldn’t recommend it, unless you have the funds and time to do a sheet mask everyday. I don’t think this is necessary at all! 1-2 sheet masks per week will suffice if you already have a great routine.
That’s all I have for this week, see you back here next week for another blog post!
Let me know below if you’d try this challenge!
With love,
