Review: Sephora Beauty Pass Rewards – Kat Von D Pack

Hello again!

A lot of you wanted a review of this and here it is! My last Sephora Beauty Pass Rewards review was received well and so I thought maybe it’d be a good idea to do one for the Kat Von D pack. The same as last time, I got the last one – which was also in the cabinet. There was no box for this one (at least I didn’t get a box for mine), it came in a KVD pouch instead.

Inside the pouch was:

I’ve always liked KVD products and own some of her products. However, I’d never tried any of her studded lipsticks or eyeliners, so this was a great chance for me to test them out!

Mini Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick – Cathedral:

First Impressions:

I love the cute packaging and the colour. It’s really flattering. Even though, it is a mini I think it’ll last ages!

What I like:

  • Packaging

I really like the packaging, it’s quite stylish and unique.

  • Smell

I’m not sure if anyone has noticed this, but KVD lipsticks always smell so good! I don’t know what it is, but it just smells so pleasant.

  • Shade

I love the shade as I mentioned above.

What I don’t like:

  • Staying power

As with most lipsticks, it’ll come off when I eat or drink. Not entirely disappointed in that, because I can just reapply it.

Overall:

Lovely shade and packaging, just bad staying power. Bit on the fence with this one to be honest.

Would I purchase the full size:

Probably not, whilst it is a nice shade I don’t think I need to purchase any lipsticks any time soon because I have been trying to finish a lot of products this year – have a look at my instagram story highlights for more!

Mini Tattoo Liner – Mad Max Brown:

First Impressions:

I’ve never tried a brown liner before so this was interesting. If I were to go for brown liners I think a kohl eyeliner would be better than liquid.  I like the brush tip, it reminds me of the Maybelline Hypersharp. It’s really easy to apply and even easier to make a wing. It claims to be waterproof, which I tested out and it passed the test! I am pretty impressed with this one.

What I like:

  • Packaging

The packaging is really cute, it’s decorated in roses.

  • Application

So easy to use, I think this would be really good for beginners!

  • Natural looking

I find that it gives a more ‘softer’ look, compared to using a black eyeliner. Whilst black eyeliner gives off a bold effect, I think brown eyeliner gives a more soft and ‘natural’

  • Easily removed

I’ve experienced some eyeliners in the past that were still on my skin despite me cleaning my whole face, however this eyeliner came off really easy!

  • Waterproof

As shown above, it actually lives up to its name – another plus!

After spraying with water – didn’t budge at all!

What I don’t like:

  • Nothing

I can’t fault this eyeliner!

Overall:

I really liked and was really impressed with the quality and how everything turned out. Definitely recommend this one to anyone who is looking to invest in a new liquid eyeliner.

It also comes in black (Trooper).

Would I purchase the full size:

Yes, I’d definitely consider purchasing the full size!

Mini Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Vampira:

First Impressions:

Loving the roses on KVD’s packaging. Once again, it smells amazing! This shade isn’t one I’d normally wear, it’s just too bold for me to pull off in an everyday look. I’ve also noticed that every time you open it, a lot of product gets onto the wand.

Every time I open it, a lot of product is dispersed on the wand.

What I like:

  • The packaging

I just really like the roses ok haha!

  • Size

Really travel friendly, as are all the other products I’ve mentioned.

What I don’t like:

  • Shade

The shade just isn’t one that’s suited for me.

Overall:

I wish there was more that I could like about this. The shade is just not suited for me, which makes it harder for me to like it.

Would I purchase the full size:

No.

Mini Ink Liner – Trooper:

First Impressions:

I had high hopes for this one after hearing so many people rave on and on about it. The tip isn’t like a brush tip, it’s rather more ‘solid’. The font is so cute! Despite it being waterproof, it is not waterproof at all. Huge let down.

What I like:

  • Darkness

It’s a classic black colour. My favourite kind of eyeliner colour!

  • Tip

Even though I like brush tips, this one is really good too – great for extra precision when making  a wing.

  • Size

Really good for those who want to test the product out before committing to the full size.

What I don’t like:

  • It’s not waterproof

Whilst waterproof eyeliners aren’t something I always look for in an eyeliner (any eyeliner will do for me), I was pretty disappointed that this didn’t live up to its claims. If an eyeliner states that it is waterproof, you’d expect it to be waterproof wouldn’t you? I was quite let down.

After spraying with water – 100% not waterproof!

Overall:

The fact that it isn’t waterproof kind of turned me off. Despite that, it is a really nice eyeliner.

It didn’t really live up to the hype that everyone gave it, which let me down as well. If it had more of a ‘wow’ factor, I would’ve liked this eyeliner.

Would I purchase the full size:

No I wouldn’t. Would I pay $30 for an eyeliner that claims to be waterproof, when it’s obviously not – of course I wouldn’t!

Final thoughts:

I really liked the tattoo liner and the studded lipstick! The other two (the ink liner and liquid lipstick) were a bit of a miss for me. Did these products live up to the hype? Yes and no, as I stated above. I think the prices for the full sized products are pretty decent as well.

I genuinely like the KVD brand and will continue supporting her brand and products.

Thanks for reading this weeks post, have you tried any of these products before? What did you think about them?

Until next time,

Irene
