Products I love that never hit the gram

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to share some products that I love, but don’t really post about. With my busy schedule, I’m not constantly updating on Instagram, what I’ve been using/loving. So I’ve decided to dedicate a blog post to some of my unsung heroes!

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturiser

Ok maybe this is not an unsung hero because I’ve featured it before haha so I’ll keep it short, but seriously this is one of the best moisturisers I’ve used. Made with great, moisturising ingredients like squalane, apricot kernel oil and avocado oil. A blessing to your face in the colder months (and all year round too)!

Vaseline Colloidal Oatmeal Soothing Body Lotion

When I saw this in the shops, I had to get it! For those who don’t know, for months I’ve been dealing with a compromised skin barrier on my hand – but only in certain areas. I know this is a body lotion, but whose to say I can’t use it on my hands. It’s steroid free, and created with oatmeal (popular ingredient to soothe dry/irritated skin), shea butter (another great ingredient) and their signature vaseline jelly.

It’s also winter here in Australia so my hands have been a little more dry than usual too. This has been great at keeping my hands nice and soft. I haven’t had any reactions to it which is awesome too. I bought the bigger size (550ml) when it was half price, because it was more economical. They also make a smaller size in a tube, it’s about 200-300ml, somewhere around there. I do love the convenience of the pump on the larger size though.

Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser

This was such a cult product in my house when I was growing up, and it kind of took a back seat once I got into skincare because I wanted to try different brands/products. It’s now back at the top because it’s a great, affordable body moisturiser. I get it from Coles whenever it’s on sale at half price and I have no complaints. Just slap it all over once you get out of the shower and it leaves your skin feeling super soft.

Revolution Skincare 5% Glycolic Acid Tonic

When Revolution came out with skincare I was pretty skeptical, but after doing research and learning more about their products via internet reviews and reviews from friends, I thought I’d give it a go. I was looking for a glycolic acid toner to use on my body and it was a toss up between this one and the one from The Ordinary (which sits at 7% and doesn’t have the extra ingredients of Ginseng and Aloe Vera).

Ecotools Bioblender

Definitely one of the best makeup sponges that I’ve used before! This one is also biodegradable so once you’ve decided to replace it, you can plant it! I love how soft and durable it is, I have experienced sponges breaking on me after washing them for the first or second time. I love that it’s two sided, so one side I’d normally use for foundation (the wider side) and the other side I’d use for my blush! Really recommend this one if you’re in the market for a good sponge!

Maybelline Cheek Heat Gel Creme in 15 Nude Burn

I have featured this a few times on the gram, it’s just so good. At first I couldn’t get it to work well for me, until I found that it was best applied via a sponge. I bounce it over my cheeks and it looks so lush and natural. I definitely will be trying the other shades when they’re on sale!

Australis Lash & Brow Extender

Ok, this one has also made a few appearances. I like this mostly for my brows, I don’t like it for my lashes, because I find it makes them too crunchy. They’re great at setting my brows and I love to pick it up when it’s on sale. I get mine from Priceline, but I think Kmart might stock it as well!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lip Liner in 110 Spice*

This is an amazing lip liner! I normally use my Savvy one, but I find this one is very similar to my natural lip colour, but it’s a little more mauve. Anyways, I love using this with the lipstick from the range, or pairing it with the clear gloss from Rimmel. It’s one that you have to sharpen – I feel like I prefer those over mechanical ones…and the lipstick I pair it with is in the shade ‘Chestnut Rose’.

So these are some of my trusty everyday products, that I don’t always feature on my Instagram. I’d love to know if you have any products that don’t get a lot of love on Instagram – let me know who your unsung hereos are!

Have a great week!

With love,
