Brand Highlight – Kiehl’s

Welcome back to another blog post!

Today I am doing a brand highlight on the very popular brand, Kiehl’s! A few months ago I did an order off their website as part of their Boxing Day sales.

I picked up three items to try as they were replacements for products that I was running out of. I got:

  • Ultra Facial Toner
  • Ultra Facial Moisturiser
  • Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing & Dark Circle-Diminishing Vitamin C Eye Serum

I also received 3 samples in my order which were:

  • Clearly Corrective Brightening & Soothing Treatment Water
  • Rare Earth Pore Masque
  • Turmeric & Cranberry Masque

And I received 5 additional samples as a promotion they had for purchases over $100:

  • Vital Skin Strengthening Super Serum
  • Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask
  • Creme De Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter
  • Ultra Facial Toner
  • Calendula Foaming Wash

Ultra Facial Toner

I read through some reviews of this toner and it sounded pretty promising. I was just looking to replace my previous toner which was one from Cosrx. This one is more of a moisturising type, I would liken it to a Korean milky essence because of the texture and how it works. I like to apply this on a cotton pad and swipe all over. I believe you can also use your hands if you prefer that way, but because of my irritated skin on my hands, I opt for the cotton pad way.

This toner has a great selection of ingredients, including avocado oil, vitamin e and squalane. It’s suitable for all skin types, and I believe it would benefit those with dry skin the most!

Ultra Facial Moisturiser

I also got this because I felt it went well with the toner and it ticked all the right boxes for a moisturiser! It comes in a bottle, which you can squeeze and it’s also see through! I try to opt for tubes or pumps as it’s more hygienic.

The ingredients are quite similar to the toner and I find this goes well with pretty much anything. I haven’t experienced any pilling, it works fine with my serums and it mixes well with oils. I use this day and night and I love it! If you’re in the market for a good, basic moisturiser, I would recommend this one!

Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing & Dark Circle-Diminishing Vitamin C Eye Serum

I picked this up after reading numerous reviews on a good eye cream to help with undereye circles. I have pretty dark undereyes, though for some reason, it’s more prominent on the right eye…I try to sleep early, most of the time I can’t for whatever reason. I feel like my sleeping pattern has been all messed up since I was in high school – which has been a long time.

This has vitamin c, tri-peptide and hyaluronic acid and claims to help with dark circles, fine lines, crow’s feet and puffiness. When first applied, it has a bit of a warming effect on the undereyes – which I have been told is normal. I find half a pump per eye is good, alternatively, one pump shared between the pair of eyes. I’ve been using it for I think just over 1 month, maybe 1 month and 2 weeks? I have found it has helped brighten that area, it’s not as dark as before, but I can still see my dark circles – that’s a given, no product is the perfect miracle worker haha. So far so good though, I’ll have an update once I’ve finished the product so keep an eye out on my Instagram!

Now onto the free samples I received from my order!

Clearly Corrective Brightening & Soothing Treatment Water

I actually haven’t used this one yet! If you’ve tried this before, let me know how it went for you!

Rare Earth Pore Masque

Who doesn’t love a wash off mask? I haven’t used one in ages, so it was nice to receive a sample of it. The sample was 5ml, which gave me about 1-2 uses. It was very comfortable on the skin and afterwards my skin just felt refreshed and clean!

Turmeric & Cranberry Masque

This was an interesting one, also came in a 5ml sachet. This is a exfoliating mask, as it has cranberry seeds in it. As you wash it off you’re meant to ‘scrub’ in circular motions, letting the seeds gently exfoliate your skin. I found this to be ok, the cranberry seeds were a bit annoying though, they kind of stuck to my face. I tried using my Face Halo to remove them, which was a bit better however they just began sticking to my Face Halo haha. It wasn’t that bad of a mask, but I would probably steer clear of it in the future.

Now lastly, onto the 5 samples I received as a GWP!

Vital Skin Strengthening Super Serum

I haven’t tried this one yet, but it sounded promising from the reviews! It claims to help with the skin barrier, and help improve skin texture which leaves the skin smooth and supple.

Avocado Nourishing Hydration Mask

This was an interesting mask as avocado is the main ingredient. This is a hydrating mask and you leave it on for 15 minutes then wash it off. I found this a bit…clumpy? It felt like putting straight avocado onto my face and as a result, it didn’t apply very smoothly. Some places I had just clumps of the mask on my face. However it did wash off pretty easily, and my skin was left feeling soft!

Creme De Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter

This smells like heaven, it’s quite pricy for the full size so I don’t think I’d purchase it in the future, but it makes such a luxe body product. I like that this was 15ml as well, it gave me a few uses and I really wanted to savour it as it’s so heavenly. I would recommend it if you’re in the market for a luxe body butter that smells amazing!

Ultra Facial Toner

I also got a 40ml size of the toner, which would be perfect for travelling or weekend getaways!

Calendula Foaming Wash

I haven’t used this one yet either, but I do enjoy calendula products. I’m saving this one for a future getaway.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the Kiehl’s products/samples I got to try. This is definitely a brand worth trying out, I would try and wait for a sale or find a stockist where I can use a discount code. I would also recommend purchasing directly from their website because they do great GWP from time to time. They’re also stocked at Mecca, Myer, David Jones and Adore Beauty (from memory).

Have you tried Kiehl’s before, what did you like?

That’s it for this week, see you back here next week for a haul!

With love,
