Hello everyone!
Welcome to October and welcome back to another review. As you can tell by the title, today I will be reviewing the Clinique Even Better Eyes, which I purchased back in July and recently finished up at the end of last month. I got this from Myer for 20% off, though you can get it at a bunch of other retailers as well.
Clinique is a pretty household name, their products have been around for years and years. When I was embarking on my journey to finding the next best eye cream to help with dark under eyes, I came across this one which had pretty promising reviews. Things like “saw results immediately” and “helps brighten my eyes and lessen dark circles”, you could say I was pretty convinced.
The Clinique Even Better Eyes is part of the “Even Better” range, which includes a moisturiser, mask and serum. It’s a serum type formulation that is clinically proven to visibly lighten dark circles by 30% in 12 weeks and instantly brightens all skin tones.
The product comes in a little 10ml tube with a silver metal applicator for the cooling effect upon application. The serum itself is beige in colour with little specks of shimmer, to give off the “brightening” effect. I used this day and night for at least 2 months before it ran out.
So does it work?
In short, yes and no.
The beige coloured serum sinks nicely into the skin. Over time I found that I preferred to apply it with my finger, rather than the applicator. Sometimes when I used the applicator to apply, it just got messy and didn’t allow the serum to sink into my skin very well – it was like I was rubbing it all over and not letting it penetrate my skin.
As I mentioned above, the brightening effect comes from the little specks of sparkle, which essentially gives the appearance of brightening. I did notice a slight difference in my under eyes, but if you asked anyone else, they probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
So yes it does help a little, but I did not see a great difference sadly.
Would I purchase it again?
Probably not. I am still on the search for a miracle working eye cream – one can dream, right?
What eye cream will I try next?
The next eye cream on my wish list is the Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream or Goodal Green Tangerine Vita C Dark Circle Eye Cream.

Have a great week!
